Need Suggestions For Beer Exchange. IPA. Stout. Porter
So Sunday is our West Whiteland neighborhood's 4th annual beer exchange. Everyone (dudes only) will bring a cooler full of beer and we'll drink some of it while we watch the Eagles lose. When it's time to leave, you load up you cooler with various types of beer from the various coolers.
Does anyone want to give any suggestions? There are tons of things I like but maybe I'll use one of your suggestions. Except nothing wheat or lambic. And nothing like Pumpkin Ale either.
My preference would be an IPA, Stout or Porter.

I prefer wine or a highball over beer so I am no help at all. Sounds like a fun event, though. Sexist and exclusionary, but fun.
It sounds fun, my recommendation if its available is from a local brewery around here called New Belgium. They make a really nice black ale called 1554.
Yuengling. dark. LOVE IT.
dont know much about American beers, but if you ever come across the Thai beer; Singha beer, I swear it is the BEST beer you will ever taste and I know my beer, hello Scandinavia.
Danish Tuborg beer is also delish...
My personal fave is Anchor Steam. I just love dark ale so I also love just about all German dark beers.

You said no wheat but unless you are allergic go for Hoegaarden. Definitely worth the extra money.
Leffe Brun. It's superb. If you can get it, Waggledance honey ale is also very tasty.
Tailgating and watching football is all about beer in cans, rather than bottles.
And the best beer in cans out there right now is from Butternuts Brewery. They make a pale ale called Pork Slap, an IPA called Snapperhead, a weissebier called Heinnieweisse and a stout called Moo Thunder. Great funky artwork on the cans too.

Oh, yeah. Anything from New Belgium Brewery is good. It's hard to suggest things because most good beers are so geographical.
Right now I am loving Leinenkugel's seasonal beer, Fireside Nut Brown. Sweet lord, that's a tasty brew.
Red Hook makes an excellent IPA and ESB, they are my favorite microwbrew right now. They're based in Seattle though, so I don't know if you can get them.
Yeah, the regionalization is gonna get ya. I agree with my Leinenkugel's. Love about anything they put out, short of some of the real fruity stuff. But I'm partial to Goose Island (http://www.gooseisland.com/) myself. I lived 3 blocks from the brew pub for 8 years, and I have my MBA from there (Masters of Beer Appreciation). But they don't distribute to PA. But they are in NY, so try them if you get a chance.

Finally, something in my wheelhouse! One of my favorite IPAs is Dogfish Head, 60 or 90 minute. Ruination IPA (from Stone Brewery) is a pretty good one too.
But I'm confused- why are there still beers left in the cooler after the game?
i'm probably too late too chime in and sadly i can't think of that beer we most recently drank in the UK...
But even so, it would be next to impossible to find here anyway...so, I would have to recommend our old standby- Boddingtons.
I don't really do beer, and I have no idea if PA sells beer on a Sunday, but I'm going to go with Sam Adams Winter lager.

I have a sneaky suspicion that you have a false bottom cooler and will leave with more beer than you came with, thereby stocking your fridge with a variety of beers to serve at the Adams Family Thanksgiving.

Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone. I bought Gilde Pilsner because a few of the babies that do the beer exchange don't like heavier beers. It was OK.
