I was just watching Dancing with the Stars....uh..by accident?
And Donny Osmond was on. So I look up the Osmonds on the Youtube and I was checking out a Donny and Marie video. Marie...Niiiiice. But then on the sidebar I see Delta Dawn by Tanya Tucker*. Here's the video. Doesn't she sound like a goat at certain parts?

But it does bring back a nice memory of when I heard this song on the radio when I was a kid.
*a few years back I was on a photo shoot and this photographer used to do all kinds of rock photography. I swear he photographed almost every major musician. So we were talking about music and he said he once photographed Tanya Tucker and she was telling him about when she used to be a major alcoholic. Said she used to walk around with a Jack Daniels bottle with a straw in it. What the hell?

And I remember this song on the radio from when I was a kid, but I'm not sure it was this version. Helen Reddy also recorded it the following year and her version was much more popular. Hmmm.
OMG...I thought this was one of my Mom's made-up songs. She is always singing things to us which may/maynot be real songs and which may/maynot contain the actual lyrics. (she got 70% of this one right ...tee-hee)
Ahhh. Reminds me of 'Jogging With Jesus' by The Hank Wangford Band. Now that was a good song.

I like country music, but I have to agree with you...she DOES sound like a goat? Or a sheep? She did get better looking with age. The dental work helped.
I think @FatherKelly needs to extend that date. 53 seems kind of young.

Good gracious, me oh my. I remember that song. As a kid then, I didn't recall who sang the song. It was just one of those bits of useless memories that formed my childhood. Kind of like John Denver songs.
I'm sure that song made it's way onto some Time Life or K-Tel collection. (Dating myself here.)
