Tasty Ring Dings I Believe Are A Bit Different Now

Is it just me or has Drake's changed the recipe of their delicious, creme filled chocolate treats the Ring Ding? I'll admit that I haven't had one in a few years but something's not right.

I'm also not too crazy that they don't come individually wrapped in tin foil anymore. Do you know how much longer it's going to take me now to reach my goal of making the largest tin foil ball on earth? Hey it's not my fault.

So are there any other foods that have been changed that I should know about? Let me know. I can take it.

  3. That's not a Ring Ding! That's a Ding Dong. (hee)

I hate that the Dilly Bar at Dairy Queen is just a tiny dollop of ice cream now.

  4. As long as they don't go messin with my Twinkies, I'll let 'em all live...

  5. I too miss the little foil hockey pucks of devil's food goodness.

I think Oscar Mayer changed the lips and schlong ratios in their hotdogs recently, too. But I think for the better.

  6. Crys - Congrats on being the first commentor. Feel free to make a tattoo out of this classic day.

Gwen - Ding Dongs are junk. Seriously.

  7. Drake's coffee cakes have changed...and not for the better.

We don't get them in CA, and I've been hankering for them, so I had my brother send me some from CT.

I remember their moist goodness from our vacations...but these cakes are drier than the Sahara.

  8. The problem is not an ingredient they left out. It's just the last time you had one years and years ago, you were stoned and had the munchies.

You'll also notice that doritos, corn nuts, and taco bell aren't as tasty anymore either.

  9. Chris - good try but I ate these since 4th grade.

  10. Remember on Seinfeld when Elaine couldn't eat for 2 days or something and then she sees Newman with a Drake? HA!

    I haven't had one in...sheesh, probably 20 years. Now I'm craving them.

    Thanks for that. lol

  11. Funny, I was just thinking that about Hostess Cupcakes! I swear they're smaller and taste different.

  13. I've devoted too much time and energy into telling people that Taco Doritos used to taste a whole lot better back in the dya.

But I'll say it again, I guess. Taco Doritos taste different. Feh.

  14. I got one. And talking about it might send me on a rampage... but Tang has changed. Its now "lower sugar" which means they put a bunch of G-darn chemicals in it and it tastes like plastic and artificial ass taste (don't ask). How can they mess with Tang?! IT WENT TO THE MOON & these holier then thou calorie counting crapstains decide they have the right to change it without consulting me?!?1 I LOVED TANG!! SCREW YOU JERKS!!!!!!!!!! Oh, also Planters Cheese Balls no longer exist. Like at all... I'd say thats a fairly big change. F-U Tang you taste like crap now. !!!! Damnit!

    Sorry, deep breaths...

  17. Sadly, yes. The makers of my beloved and most-abused food source ~ the Ho-Ho ~ have changed their recipe. It actually happened a few years ago and I was forced to start using Swiss Rolls as a cheap substitute. Damn you Hostess!!!

  18. I think the same thing many times.

  19. 1) those are ding dongs in my part of the world too. Not my favorite, I prefer snoballs (the chocolate cake with the coconut marshmallow wig on it) and nutty bars, both of which I can report are the same as they ever were.

    2) Nacho cheese Doritos have changed, but for the better. I swear, they have three times as much yummy fluorescent orange dust on them as before. I don't know about the taco ones, though- they're hard to find these days.

    3) I miss the diet Pepsi from the 70's/80's that had lemon in it. I'm not a huge soda drinker, but I miss diet pop with saccharin in it and this stuff was pretty good with the lemon. And no- adding lemon to diet Pepsi isn't the same. In general, diet Pepsi tends to suck balls.

    4) Honeycomb, Trix, Coco puffs and cookie crisp cereals are all different than I remember, and not in a good way. I only eat this stuff a few times a year, and I'm tired of being disappointed. Thank baby jeebus that Peanut butter Cap'n crunch hasn't changed.

  20. Whiskey M - thanks for the excellent coverage. Ding Dongs are the same shape and do have filling but they are different from the Ring Ding.

As for the Peanut Butter Cap,' Crunch, I haven't had that in years. I think I'll be buying a box of that soon.

  21. I don't think I've been alive long enough to notice a change in my favorite fatty cream filled snack foods. That, or I just don't eat enough of them to care.

HAHAHAH...I lie, it's the first one...I eat so many hostess cake products my blood is probably thicker than the cream by now.

  22. Vegetable Thins. They used to be grasy, flavorful crackers shaped like various vegetables. Then, they turned into weird shapes without so much flavor. The newest recipe has the least flavor of all, so it's necessary to add cheese.

    The humanity!

  23. They don't even MAKE toasted corn Doritos anymore. That's a change and a half!

  24. It's called stretching their dollar. Everything is riddled with High Fructose Corn Syrup, which didn't even exist in the 70s, when you and I enjoyed such delights. Hence, FAT AMERICA. Don't get me started, Zibbs!!

  25. As for the PB Cap'n Crunch, save your arteries and buy Mother's Peanut Butter Bumpers. Can be found at Wegmans and Giant, I believe. It's all natural and they are kick ass. You'll never miss the Cap'n. Swearsies.
