It looks like advertising spending will be down this year for the Super Bowl due to the economy. I'm sure it's a one in a billion chance but maybe, just maybe we'll see a really, really low budget commercial like this Carvel commercial for Cookie O Puss from 1982.
What? A guy can dream can't he?
I would say less than 1 in a billion. But I am dreaming along with you!
ReplyDeleteDear Dr. Zibbs,
ReplyDeleteI hope you get all the culturally-insensitive ice cream cakes from outer space that you could possibly hope for.
Regards,
SouthernBelle
Oh, to dream.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping for a local classic, the Victory Auto Wrecker's commercial.

Wow! That's so 80's. BUT THEY ARE STILL RUNNING IT! It even has it's own Wiki article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victory_Auto_Wreckers
And my classic word verification: "mobad". I think I might start using that instead of "Scope"!
I'm hoping for 5 second ads that go:
ReplyDelete800-588-2300 Emmmppppiiiiiiirrrrrreeee
There's a contest for the best Doritos commercial during the game. One contestant is from around here, and he's a cutie (for all you women out there)!
ReplyDeleteHis commercial is the one where the woman's clothes come off...I bet I just inspired every male reading this to watch the game...even if they hate football. lol!
Dare to dream, my friend...
ReplyDeleteRemember Al Shibe and his 99 dollar car painting commercial?
ReplyDeleteMy word verification is Supepar!
That'll be One Hundred Million Dollars *Says like Mini Me With Finger to Corner of Mouth* for watching your 30 second ad! ;)
ReplyDeleteI totally remember those commercials. There was a Carvel shop in Jacksonville when I grew up and I so wanted a bday cake from there. I think I'm damaged goods today because I never got one.
ReplyDeleteCookie puss, is that some kind of "I TOLD you not to eat crackers in bed" type of infection?
Cookie Puss? Too much for me.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean "low-budget" they had to launch an ice cream cake in to outer space for that commercial. Do you know how much that costs?
ReplyDeleteI heard Miller High Life is paying for a One Second commercial tonight. I wonder if they will show it over and over, like subliminal messaging, instead of just paying for a 30 second spot. That could be a good idea.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Oh my God! As soon as that thing said "cookie o' puss" I lost it.
ReplyDeleteO.G - DOTS A GOOD VON!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCookie O Puss never had nothin on Fudgie the Whale!
ReplyDeleteAh, Carvel ads. They were so inappropriate. I still remember "the Thinny-Thin Cake for the fatty-fat!"
