  2. I always thought he was weird so I don't mind not hearing about him anymore.

  3. There's probably a very good reason no one has heard of him in so long.

  4. Like New Coke. Some things will NEVER be retro-cool. Sorry Paul, and Cousin Oliver!

  5. Paul Williams definitely screams "70s", but he also gave us "Rainbow Connection" and that makes him okay in my book.

  6. He was cousin Oliver?!?!?

SHOULD we be hearing from him these days? ;)

  7. Is he dead? I don't even care enough to google whether he's dead or not. No wonder we never hear about him.

  8. Who is Paul Williams? Should I know this?

  9. That's because the Love Boat is no longer in syndication.

  10. I think he's dead. But I have a special place in my heart for him because he sang the theme song to "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble."

  11. It's strange that you should mention him, because I had the sexiest dream about him last night...

  12. It was all downhill for him after Smokey and the Bandit Part III.

I mean, who can top that?

  13. That little dude wrote some kick-ass 70's love songs. And he is still alive.

  14. Just look at him in that photo, would ya! He looks like an escapee from HR Puffnstuff!

  15. He'll always be the voice of the young black piano player in Bugsy Malone to me.

  16. As a kid, it seemed like for three years Paul Williams was a guest star on every tv program on every night of the week!

He was the voice of the Penguin on the Batman cartoons the kids and I have been watching, but his best role was "Murder By Death".

Dang! I've confirmed my geekdom yet again!

  17. What twisted reverie made you think of him?

  20. Paul Williams always creeped me out. Reminds me of a dwarf perv.

And Robbie Rist played cousin Oliver...although there IS a remarkable resemblance.

  21. Hey, he also wrote "We've Only Just Begun" for the Carpenters!

    Yeah, he's a freak--but he's (was?) a talented freaked.

  22. I remember him from the 70's but I don't remember why I remember.

I do remember he freaked me out.

    everything freaks me out.

  23. I've always thought Paul Williams looked like someone had left Meat Loaf in the dryer too long.

  24. To me, he looks like the spawn of H.R. Pufnstuf...who also creeped me out!

  25. Yuck...I remember being repulsed by him even when I was little.

  26. He used to be on Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Hollywood Squares, and everything. So does anyone know if he is dead or not. If not he could probably make a comeback on one of the reality TV shows wtih Peter Brady.

That's what I call a concentrated post. One picture, one sentence and you get a ton of comments.

  27. And he IS alive. I wrote "never forget" as a way to lure in the reader. Plus, you should never forget him.

  28. How bizarre is this:

Tonight on the Fox Movie Channel, they are airing the 1974 film "Phantom of the Paradise" starring none other than - PAUL WILLIAMS.

Freaky! You must be psychic, dude.

  29. Paul Williams is active in the AA program, 19 years sober. He also helps victims of child abuse and spousal abuse. I met with him today because my wife is going through detox from drug addiction. He flew out from Palm Springs to be with us at no charge to us. He talked to her, gave us hope, spent two hours of his time to help a stranger. He's a good guy in my book. Check out PaulWilliamsconnection.com for updates. He's truly a good soul.

  30. This is Portuguese. Translate, you rascals.
    ...
