Sssssssss!!!! Here's a picture of a snake I captured in a bucket. You may remember this bucket as the same one I use in The THAT BLUE YAK GARDEN OF HOPE. Yeah. It's the same one! I love the sound of the clanking handle.
I have no problem with big snakes. If someone had a boa constrictor or python, I would put it around my neck in a second.
There's something about these small snakes though that freak me out. They move too fast and I think they're sneaky.
Not many things freak me out or spook me but the other thing that makes me sick is something I heard on the news this morning. Do you know that there's a major problem with bed bugs? There is. So watch out.
The other thing in the yard that freaks me out is when I pick up a rock and a vole comes running out. That's when I scream like a girl.
What grosses you out or sickens you? And don't say me.
my parent's are always grazing on food. they eat anywhere in the house. they eat toast and those goddamn 'american' slices of cheese on the couch. WITHOUT FUCKING PLATES.
ReplyDeletei find bits of toast and the clear plastic wrappers in the couch cushions. not to mention the many coffee stains around the foot of the couch because MY DAD CAN'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THAT IF HE GOING TO DRINK COFFEE IN THE LIVING ROOM he needs a fucking travel mug.
WITH THE LID ON.
so really, it's is mixture of disgust and contempt.
and yes, I agree, the clank of the handle from that bucket must be a very pleasing sound indeed.
I couldn't even click on your bed bugs link because I can't take the pics. I literally freak out.
ReplyDeleteAnd puke grosses me out. For my husband, he can't do kid boogers. He'll puke. Then I'm screwed. Boogers and puke combined are hell.
Thanks, now I gotta go home, strip the sheets, and fumigate the bed. Spiders for me, they just creep me out.
ReplyDeleteLost in Space - they say it's not as easy as that - they'll hide in your outlets and come back.
ReplyDeleteSee - I told you it was scary.
So what the heck is a vole? It sounds like a vampire mole which would totally make me scream like a girl also. Oh, I am a girl...so it would probably make me scream like a blue yak.
ReplyDeleteI can deal with snakes. For me, it's the spiders. And my arch-enemy of all bugs: the centipede. Those stripey, hairy, lightning-fast sons of bitches FREAK me out.
ReplyDeleteBig F and I have the same hatred for snakes. There was a black one in the yard last week, he called in backup(neighbor) and they cut it in half. Not me, I scream like a little girl.

HAHAHA! Zibsy, I'm laughing at the visual of you screaming like a girl at a teensy little vole.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA!
I hate haaaaaaaaaaaate HATE those damn large GIANT cockroaches running around this freakin little island...they are disgusting and faaaaaast. UGH!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're afraid of big snakes?
ReplyDeleteI'm totally going to have to erase what I wrote about you in the men's room, then.
On a side note, the word 'meat' makes me shudder.
I suppose you'll have to erase the thing you wrote, too, then.
Spiders, Zibbs. And deer penis.
ReplyDeleteRats freak me out. Snakes that dare to crawl on me as I'm sunbathing freak me out. Men that show me their penises without me asking them to freak me out.
ReplyDeleteSpiders and cockroaches. Hate them both.
ReplyDeleteSpiders have fangs and are all webbly, and cockroaches are just disgusting.
Other insects don't bother me at all though.
(with head lowered and talking in creepy whisper) Hey Jeannie. Turn around.
ReplyDeleteNaaaaa. Naaaaa. Naaaaa.
Ookami Snow - Thanks for stopping my blog. Everyone should go check out his - it's really funny.
ReplyDeleteI am afraid of little tiny spiders. And for some reason, eating salad always reminds me of spiders (need to talk to a professional about that association someday), and I can never swallow it. Salad, I mean.
ReplyDeleteI'm terrified of spiders. All spiders. Big? yep Small? yep harmless? WTF ever!!!
ReplyDeleteI won't even step on one. If I wake up in the middle of the night and see a spider I will wake up the world until someone else comes to kill it.
Snakes, spiders, moths, but what really freaks me out is the skanky seedy inside of melons that looks like an alien's innards. The day I get over that phobia I know a claw will come out of the melon and grab me.
ReplyDeleteI had a traumatic experiance when I was 5 with a Praying Mantis. They are my worst fear...
ReplyDeleteI cracked the fuck up at your screaming like a little girl
Do you speak Parseltongue? Maybe you could tell him that TBY is the greatest blog in the f-ing land.
ReplyDeleteAnd what skeeves me out? Stinkbugs...I call them Crunchy bugs. You know what I'm talking about. They look like the bark of a tree and they fly around blindly and clang into things like lights, and TVs. They wake me up with their fluttering crunchy wings. **shudder**
Hairy bush! You know what I'm talking about.
ReplyDeletei think rats make me squeal like a little girl. i just cant stands em..
ReplyDeletePeanut butter and slugs. The thought of the former smeared on the latter is almost enough to make me heave on my laptop.
ReplyDeleteKimmie - who is Parseltongue?
ReplyDeleteloose teeth. gah. My kids wiggle their wiggly teeth and I start a-gaggin.
ReplyDeleteBridges. I hate bridges.
ReplyDeleteWell, the good news, Zibbs: I think that's a milk snake. Fairly common and non-venomous.
ReplyDeleteThe bad news: It's still fucking creepy.
Oh, sorry. Here's the site I used for identification: Milk SnakeI thought it might have been a massasauga, at first, but the splotches look too red for that. Massasauga Massasaugas are venomous.
ReplyDeleteKarl Malden's nose
ReplyDelete*Shudder*
While I don't like bugs (especially ones that fly), they don't freak me out. But even the distant buzzing of a bee (I'm allergic) makes me want to throw up. And yeah, vomit makes me freak out too.
ReplyDeleteSnakes? Rats? Mice? Hornets? Send me in- I'll take care of them... Spiders? I'll send my wife...
ReplyDeleteSHIT. After that photo, I will have to spend the rest of the night with my feet on top of my desk. God I hate snakes.
ReplyDeleteWhat is a vole please?
ReplyDeleteSharks...most of the time I can't go in the water past my ankles...I don't like any fish swimming near my legs either. Shudder
ReplyDeleteMichelle -a vole is like a mole and a mouse but freakier. I think they're kind of blind too.
ReplyDeleteMy kryptonite is spiders.
ReplyDeleteThey scare the living daylights out of me.
Then I kill them. And kill them again just to make sure.
Kez - very wise.
ReplyDeleteParseltongue is the art of talking to snakes. Harry Potter! DANG!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a vole.
Kimmie - hahaha. I was too lazy to look it up. If I go for coffee in WC tomorrow morn I'll email you.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better.
I don't like silverfish.
ReplyDeleteI also don't like sand crabs...the kind that you see in the wet sand when the waves recede back into the ocean. They freak me out.
Snakes of all sizes. Rodents. All bugs. Spiders. Small penis.
ReplyDeleteI've said it all, right here: http://gastonstudio.blogspot.com/2009/03/southern-cockroaches.html
ReplyDeleteOwen Wilson's nose - looks like a d*ck and it's not that I can't handle d*cks or c*ck but not between your eyes and mouth ...
ReplyDeleteA d*ck should be down there, just above the b*lls ...
WWW - yeah they're pretty creepy too.
ReplyDeleteOnce I left few crumbles of bread on the table overnight. In the morning there was a black spot of ants, and a fine line going out of the window.
ReplyDeleteI freaked out and start to spray insect killer all around, and was searching all day around the house like the "dramatic chipmunk" but then when I'm on the street I won't step on them, as I respect their natural territory...
And I hate spiders.
the giant roaches you see around the city
ReplyDeletegiant
did i say giant
I don't like spiders and snakes, but that ain't what it takes to love me, you fool, you fool.
ReplyDeleteWhat freaks me out? Blood and needles. And walking into bathroom at Mickey Dee's to find someone shat in the urinal.
Spiders and fish freak me out. I don't mind snakes or mice or anything....but put me in an aquarium and I wigg out!
ReplyDelete
