I Never Got My Gorilla Outfit. Cabdury Commercial. Phil Collins.

When I was a kid I always wanted a really good gorilla outfit. Not the really crappy ones that you would see on low budget TV shows. I always wanted a REALLY good one that looked real. I'm not kidding.

I always thought that if I had one I'd be able to do one of the best gorilla imitations ever.* Sadly, that day never came.

But on the gorilla subject, check out this gorilla playing drums to Phil Collins in this Cadbury commercial. I think he over does it a bit but....

*I did however have the pleasure of getting in an Easter Bunny outfit two years ago and I'm telling you..my costume pantomime was on the level of the Phillies Phanatic. I'm not kidding you.

  1. I always wanted a really good werewolf costume. Something way better than the Michael Landon costume from "I Was a Teenaged Werewolf", that's for sure.

  2. Earl, if you can get one that looks like the American Werewolf in London werewolf I'll split it with you.

  3. Sadly, I just found out Phil Collins can drum anymore (for now at least).

We might need the gorilla to help out on Phil's new Motown album.

  6. I think you should fulfill your childhood dream and go out and buy yourself a gorilla suit.

And then maybe turn your camera on as you're doing gorilla impressions.

And then maybe post the ensuing hilarity on your blog for all of us to see.

    Just a thought...

  8. This was one of my favourite adverts when it was out..thats is not a man in a gorilla suit, its a real gorilla! They can pick up anything quickly enough if you have the pateince to teach them :)

Cadburys (the best chocolate in the world I might add) replaced this advert with some demented kids with even more demented eyebrows that gave me and many others nightmares

  9. I don't understand what a gorilla playing drums has to do with chocolate?! You in an easter bunny costume (over-acting) - now THAT could sell some chocolate.

  10. My parents promised me a clown car, which of course I never got. I think the idea of you running around in a gorilla suit is really funny.

I did a post on my haunted house experience (which was too big to leave in your comment section). You asked for it, you got it.

  11. Miss H there's no way that's a real gorilla.

Diane - will check it out now.

  12. I was such a space geek growing up that I wanted my own space suit.

  13. SkylersDad - but you can make a perfectly fine one with a bunch of tin foil. If you want to make your own gorilla suit you need to collect tons of black hair. And that can become a real chore.
