Toni Marie Terrano, Michelle Sutlovich, Fame and Stairway to Stardom.

I mentioned in the comments the other day about how I used to run in front of the TV when my sister was watching it and start dancing to the theme of the show Fame. Just to be annoying. "Get out of the way! I'm watching this"...as I flailed arms and legs.

So Gage says, "was it like this?"..and leaves a clip to one of the best videos I've ever seen. It's a chick dancing to the theme of Fame. Here it is:

Do you believe that???

It's from a show called Stairway To Stardom. I've never even heard of that show! We had a similar show in the Philly area called the Al Alberts show but instead of untalented adults singing and dancing it was only kids. I'm such a fan of no talents singing and dancing with terrible production. It looks like she's performing in front of an elevator.

Here's another one from that show. It's a little lady named Toni Marie Terrano. Make sure to look for the under the leg clap at 1:43. And how old do you think she is? It's very hard to tell.

And if you want to see an artist rendering of Toni Marie Terrano click here. Move over Mona Lisa.

  2. ..and watch the end of the first video. The host is surprised that she's "self taught".

  3. I like that the face in Miss Terrano's photo prop is Scott Baio!

  4. Is that Scott Baio in the picture???

I'm having dance recital flashbacks. Oh dear...

  5. Are both girls about 12? I would go with maybe 14 on the first one.

But HEY, it's not like I'm one of those carney "Guess your guess you weight, guess the month you were born" guys. I ain't not professional or nuttin'.

  6. Scott Baio? I think that is him in the picture.

And Scope, the first girl is probably 15. I think.

  7. Sadly, that first chick dances better than I do.

    *sigh*

  8. Thank you for saving me from my Simon & Garfunkel pity party that I was having this morning, I hate this rain.
Number 1 is like the female version of Billy Elliot, ha. Number 2 has a decent voice, but looks like a dancing candy cane. I was trying to see who was in the signed photo(probably her mom's), Paul McCartney?

  9. Cora - I don't believe you.

Diane - It's Scott Baio in the photo. I agree with her voice. It's not that bad. She's just at that awkward age. And the movements are just weird.

  10. In the first video I'm certain I saw her "concentration tongue" hanging out of her mouth during one particularly challenging move.

  11. OMG, I'm such a spaz, hadn't it already been established that it was Scott Baio? geez.

  13. Diane - may I suggest you read through my comments...come back a bit later and read them again..THEN comment? Just an idea.

Debbie - it's like finding gold.

  14. Good suggestion. I did that, actually. ahem. So you see, I truly am a spaz today. There's no helping me I'm afraid.

  15. Oh it IS gold... I have more gems for you... to be doled out slowly... it's important you learn to delay gratification or something...

Sadly, I've almost made a career out of finding such things. Wait, there's nothing sad about that AT ALL!

  16. I can't believe I sat through that just to see the under the leg clap.

  17. haha great to watch ! I've just seen Little Miss Sunshine this week and it remined me a bit of the routine granddad 'invented' for his granddaughter ... :-)

  18. Did anyone else find it vaguely unsettling that Toni's knees were only 4 inches above her ankles and on the outside of her legs? I noticed that while waiting on the jazzy under-the-leg clap.

  19. Lula - Yeah. The body is a whole separate conversation.

  20. In the first video I'm certain I saw her "concentration tongue" hanging out of her mouth during one particularly challenging move.

  21. "It looks like she's performing in front of an elevator." hehehe. It does look like that.

    Excellent rendering, I might add.

  22. I don't know how old the girl is in the first video but I think I had a couch dance off her back in 97...her dance skills don't seem to have improved but 42DD implants tend to mask that.

  23. Funnebone - yeah. 42DD's will do that.

  24. I just wasted like 5 minutes of my life.
That first girl - I was all ready to comment some snarky remark like: "do you think someone actually choreographed that routine for her?" then I saw the interview...
As for the 2nd girl she could be 12 or she could be 35. I'm bad at this game.
