During a long walk this morning I listened to the ACDC albums Back In Black and Dirty Deeds.
Well the one lyric in Dirty Deeds always bothered me. Here it is:
You got a lady and you want her gone But you ain't got the guts She keeps naggin' at you night 'n' day Enough to drive you nuts Pick up the phone, leave her alone It's time you made a stand For a fee, I'm happy to be Your back door man
So is he saying that he's going to come and have anal sex with her or is a backdoor man also a hitman? I looked online for three minutes and found no reference to a backdoor man being a hitman. And why doesn't he just dump her? I don't get it.
No mention of the Doors or various blues back door men? Also, it means he's the guy who slips in and out the back door. The cheatin' kind. Not welcome in the front door. Did that explain it? :)
He's offering to "hit" her. It's an old urban slang word for hitman. Strikes me a little weird that it can't be found anywhere. Weirder yet that the term is in an ACDC song. I think it's from the 40's or early 50's.
The Doors also have a 'Backdoor Man' song ; I always thought is was about being a lover, sneaking in at the backdoor, so no one will notice him coming in ... but the anal thing could also be right as we say here ; a good friend always enters through the backdoor ..:^)
Notice he says "I'm happy to be your backdoor man!" He doesn't say "her" but 'your". Maybe he's gonna have sex with the guy and the woman will think he's gay and leave him. Or he's gonna bang her in the ass with a rifle.
HIGH VOLTAGE!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're anal-izing it too closely there Zibbs.

ReplyDeleteCowguy - Haha!
ReplyDeleteSybil Law - Yeah and I saw that definition but it doesn't explain why he would be offering those services. To shut her up?
I don't get it.
Diane - Thanks! As I noted, I only looked online for like 3 minutes. Thanks for being my personal Google.

ReplyDeleteDomi's right about the Doors connotation of the word, but I'm sure that ACDC was talking about "taking her out".
ReplyDeleteDominica - You are correct. Click on the link that gives the Urban Dictionary definition.
