So when I put the clip up the other day from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, this is the clip I should have put up.
Chris from Some Guy's blog posted this in the comments section the other day. This is the clip where Harding is talking about his wife and form and content and heaven and hell...and things get peculiar. This may be one of my favorite scenes in any movie.
Please don't let me end up there.
ReplyDeleteThe look on Louise Fletcher's face at the end of that clip makes my balls shrink.
ReplyDeleteZibby, the asylum in the movie is in my hometown. Were we peculiar? Oh yes!
ReplyDeleteNow I want to see the movie again!
ReplyDeleteDedene - that's pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI was so glad when I was able to find this clip. I really need to get this on DVD.
ReplyDeleteAwesome scene. I love the way Jack N. laughs through the whole thing, like he's not crazy like them. And the silent exchange between him and Fletcher says "I know that you know that I know you're going to get me".
ReplyDeleteMy word ver. is subxzsz, which is how f*cking cold it is here today.
I watched Changeling Sunday night instead of the Oscars and that, paired with this, makes me very scared of asylums. I think I need to stop acting crazy on purpose.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of why I have always loved this movie!
ReplyDeleteNot to sound like a snob or anything, but the book is incredible. Even if you love the movie, it's a must-read.
ReplyDeleteStepping off pretentious soap box now.
What Robin said made me think "I said that too, the first time", so I went back to check. And what I said came off sounding so unkind I nearly fell off my chair when I read it. Zibbs, I was really only kidding, and I must tell you now, that I am so sorry for leaving such a stupid comment on your page. And now I will just curl up into fetal position and await your forgiveness.
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend's favorite movie!
ReplyDeleteDiane - you're forgiven.
ReplyDeleteGreta - what's his favorite color? Nevermind. I don't care about that.
