Blogger Header Contest. Twitter. Sam Raimi. MTV Movie.

Here are a few things to go over:

- The winner of the TBY header contest is Mr Condescending. Thanks! Look how great my new header looks.

- There were eight other bloggers that sent header designs and it was tough to narrow it down to one. If you'd like to share your design, put it on your blog on Wednesday and I'll write a post with links. If you don't want to show it I'll still give you a link.

- Go see the Sam Raimi movie Drag Me To Hell. It's great fun. Seriously, don't be a big baby. Go see it. Boo!

- I'm totally obsessed with Twitter now. It's great to have a place to write all the weird stuff I think about all day. Click on my sidebar to join Twitter. Give it about a week and I think you'll love it. But I really have to stop reading the Tweets while driving. I can't help myself I tells ya...

- Why do I watch the MTV Movie Awards every year? What a fucking joke.

  2. Mr C - Thanks you!

Jennifer - I know. I really need to stop.

  3. ...and one more thing. Look at the Gypsy. She kind of looks like she could be Nana Zibbs's younger, less attractive sister.

  4. Zibbsy, your head(er) is magnifico!

  5. Sweet header Zibbs! I'm on hiatus...miss me?

  6. Alexa - I guess it makes a bit more sense than a header with an electic tennis racket huh?

  7. Looks great! (Not as good as mine, of course, but still great...:)

  8. OOOh, it looks good yeah but will post mine as well on Wednesday ! Hope I don't forget !
Twitter is awesome - sometimes great and a fabulous way to get something out of your system when you can't scream it ! haha..
Now I'm really curious to see what the other 6 did for your header ...Can't wait till Wednesday !

  9. Ooooh! Love the new header, Zibbs! Niiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

  10. Glad you all love the new header. Except like my old one - why doesn't it seem to fit correctly into the burgundy backdrop?

Is that because of the Google template I use?

  11. Great header! I can't wait to see the other entries.

  12. I like the new header, quite interesting. Reminds of Babe, the blue ox.

And you liked "Drag Me To Hell", eh? Hmmm, might have to think about seeing that one.

  13. Wings - to tell you the truth I'm not even sure that either of those animals is a yak but they're close enough.

  14. Believe it or not, its yak racing. I think its in mongolia.

I painstainkingly layered the blue on to not make it look too bland. I had to make sure it was as refined as Dr Zibbs.

Maybe try this zibbs, when you upload the banner, click the box that says resize. That probably is the problem.

  15. Per your comment about the offset header pic.

I had to play around with my header a lot when I used a blogger template, but it was much easier when I switched to a Wordpress-style template.

I don't know what to suggest...play around with it, I guess. That's all you can do unless you change templates.

  16. You can make the banner fit snugly in that burgundy box by making it a little less long. Keep cutting the width until it looks centered.

  17. very nice! Why is the blue Yak losing the race?

  18. The MTV awards are a mind wash for the younger set.
I'm so glad you like horror films, as I am a horror film fanatic. We have a drive-in by us that would make a killing if they would only show the really good ones, aka Susperia, Deep Red, any George Romero movie, anything with Christoper Lee & Peter Cushing, The House of Dark Shadows. People would come out in droves to see some of the old classics on the big outdoor screen.

  19. Kimmie - I think they're just on the first lap.

Diane - I agree. I don't understand why the big multiplexes don't reserve at least one of their theaters for playing classic movies.

  20. I would join Twitter, but I would probably have to quit my job after spending all my time checking people's updates. It's bad enough I spend so much time reading blogs-- I can only imagine how unproductive I would get if I had to keep up with Facebook or Twitter, too!

  21. Are we gonna be able to see all the header entries...or am I missing something?

And I like Twitter but I never remember to update it unless something exciting happens...which it never does.

  22. Looks great! Dr.Phil is on right now (I'm not watching it) but it's about the dangers of texting and driving. A rerun from before Twitter was all the rage. Shame on you!

  23. Oh, and I can't even watch the Drag Me To Hell preview without looking away. Can't do it. Color me a big baby

  24. JJ - I will put a link to the bloggers that designed headers. They may or may not show their designs on their blogs.

I also may use some of the designs here in the future.

Hmmm..maybe I could also save them for the TBY museum and theme park that will be launched in the future.

  25. What, the Eminem-Bruno thing wasn't worth it?

  26. The new header is awesome!!!Great job, Mr. Condescending!
The awards were on? I always miss them.

  27. Sybil Law - I'm sure they'll be playing the MTV Awards over and over again.

    ReplyDelete
  28. wait I want to be cool enough to tweet while I'm driving... so do you just get the updates for all of your followers? Or your favorites?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I KNEW you would love the Tweet.

And love the header. You are a champion.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Something's different... Something about the layout. Did you change your bottom sidebar visited link color?

    Nice header.

  31. The problem with your new fine header is the burgundy box...it needs enlarging, width, that is. Even though I am a bitter, FREE header designer, WHOSE DESIGN WAS REJECTED, I direct you to "The Blog Doctor" where you can look up how to do this by yourself. The Blog Doctor can solve any, and all things related to Blogger...except a broken ego and heart from BEING REJECTED by certain insensitive, and design whore bloggers who don't recognize TRUE talent from PROFESSIONTAL designer types.

Or, you can dump the stupid burgundy box and just let the header shine by itself.

I WILL be posting about this on Wednesday of this week on my blog, http://jadedj-banquetofconsequencestoo.blogspot.com/ Have a good rest of the day :)

    Oh, the Blog Doctor: http://www.blogdoctor.me/2009/02/full-sitemap-of-blog-doctor.html

  32. Jadedj - you're all rejected. You're all winners and you're all loser.

I have no idea what that means but I'm watching the rerun of the MTV movie awards like a douche and felt like I had to say something.

    ReplyDelete
  33. ...and don't tell the others but I think yours was in 2nd place.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Zibbs, I am 'umbled...and eating pie. None of the other also rans will ever know.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh, and I love being a winner and a loser...it looks good on my resume.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Jadedj - your name is very fitting then. Huh?
