Bates Motel, Spook Houses In Chester County PA. Scary.

So it's Halloween month. And I'll tell you what I'll be doing - going to the Bates Motel Haunted Hayride. If you live anywhere near Chester County Pa you should check this place out.

I've always loved spook houses and haunted hayrides but to tell you the truth, most are pretty lame. A few year back they had this one attraction that was so horrifying that you're not going to believe it.

You come through the woods and there's a guy that's had his arms chained to a tree stump. He's screaming for help. So of course a maniac comes out of nowhere with a chainsaw and approaches him. He's screaming his lungs off as the chainsaw maniac "cuts off" his arms. Now the kicker is...

..GET READY...HERE IT COMES....

They used a real amputee to play the guy that was having his arms cut off! So he's screaming then he runs up to us screaming, "MY ARMS! HE CUT OFF MY ARMS!..GIVE ME "YOUR" ARMS"! as he's shoving his bloody stumps in the faces of people.

Let me tell you that it was not only frightening but also really disturbing. AND, since I have a phobia of amputees (and sometimes retarded people if they approach me) I have to admit I was pretty scared.

I wonder how many were scarred for life?

  1. You're the second person that I've heard of that has a fear of amputees. Where does that come from? What exactly are you afraid of?

If they're missing a leg, it's not like they can chase you.

If they're missing arms/hands, they can chase you but they can't catch you.

    Right?? Right.

  2. Catherinette - I guess I'm afraid that they're going to touch me.

  4. I think you're confusing amputees with lepers.

Speaking of which, if you can find a haunted house that features lepers, I'd like to know about it.

  5. No lepers, but I know someone with a reasonably bad case of scabies?

    Wooooooo!

  6. Terrifying post. We love getting those Bates brochures every fall. We look at the disturbing pictures and then get so scared that we swear it off until next year and save a ton on admission.

  7. Shit that's pretty awesome.

In the early 90s I remember watching double dare, they had a knife thrower and they asked for a volunteer. This dork gets up there and the guy is throwing knives inches from his body. Then he fires one right at his chest, which was a rubber knife!

  8. You know that urban legend about the guy hanging at a haunted house, but he's actually hung? That happened years ago at the New Hope-Solebury High School. Very sad. Evidently, the kid's "hanging harness" broke and he really got hung and died. I've never been able to go to those haunted house things ever since that happened.

    OK. I'll look it up.

  10. I used to be a actress there. I could stand so still, people thought I was a fake, then I would jump. All was well until I got kicked in the throat by some amazon blond and when I caught up to her, she wished I hadn't. After that, they kept me in a cage. Literally.

  11. No, but I chased her through the barn, grabbed her arm, yanked my mask off, and that's when she realized what was underneath was WAY scarier!!!

  12. I knew a guy who taught lessons to his children with the help of a guy who only had one arm. I think his name was Weatherman, or something. Always ridiculous.

  13. ChesterCo - sweet

Higgi - there's a name for a guy with one arm and I can't think of it.

  19. Has anyone heard anything about the new place called the horror zone? I wanted to visit but not sure if anyone has been. I heard it was pretty good and that some people could not even make it all the way through.
