Check out these fat fucks!
Remember these guys? The fattest twins Bill and Benny McGuire. If you're around my age you remember seeing them in the Guinness Book of World Records in the seventies. Man I used to love me some freaks in that book. Dude with longest nails, cow with extra legs coming out it's back, Mark Spitz's mustache. All of it.
And damn it! After setting up this post I realized that I already wrote a post about these lard asses! Damn it! I'm almost running out of things to write about here!
But on the subject of identical twins, do they usually die within a few weeks of each other? I Googled this a few months ago and couldn't find out. And before someone says, "I know of a set of twins that died a week a part. Some say of a broken heart...." - I ain't buyin' it.
And wouldn't it suck to be the slightly less good looking twin? And you hear everyone pointing it out?
Are any of you guys twins?
In other Guinness Book freak news here's one of my posts that made me crack up when I wrote it - to read it click the word Sandy.
I bet if you zoom out you'll see that they're traveling to McDonald's. Look at those grins.
ReplyDeleteHey Zibbs! Yep, they're lovin' it! And YES, I do remember this very photo from the GBOR. As you say, big gentlemen. Roth
ReplyDeleteHuge.
DeleteI do remember these guys. Weren't they each buried in their own piano case or something like that?
ReplyDeleteSuze -i haha i think the fattest dude was buried in one. Ill have to research that one but remember this kid in 6th grade saying "that fat ass was buried in a god damn piano case!"
DeleteI'm laughing so hard because my Dad uses the expression "fat fucks". Hey at least they are fat and happy. Just look at those smiles!!!
ReplyDeleteJust keepin it --- i know. Those smiles say "pride."
Deleteit was definitely the "fat fucks" comment that got me....
ReplyDeleteand the questions you would ask that Indian...hilarious.
Choleesa yeah i love that expression.
DeleteThose dudes were big boned !! I remember them on the cover of my first Guinness book with the guy buried in a piano , and the creepy long nailed dude...I think they were on thats incredible too ...hell, I should probably start eating more McDonalds , they look pretty fucking happy on those bikes !
ReplyDeleteYup theyre happy as clams. 700 pound clams.
DeleteI'm the evil twin. I ate the good one "in utero". Tasted like veal.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy there's only one of me in this world. Think the feeling's mutual from the world's side.
ReplyDeleteHaven't read GBOR for years and years.
Annika - Yeah I would hate to have a twin.
ReplyDeleteLook at all the stupid records shown here: http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/extra-ordinary/
ReplyDeletewhich of course are the best records from the whole Guinness repertoire!
ALSO...which record from that page would you break if you had to choose?
ReplyDeleteTC - I know. There are even more obscure ones like bouncing a ball while tapping your finger and singing. Who gives a crap!?
ReplyDeleteAnd I would go for the most bowls broken by one finger in one minute.
Zibsy! Where the hell did you drag this up?? Yes, I remember these fat fucks!!,and all the other freaks from Guiness Book.
ReplyDeleteOMG, the crap you remember..I love it
Oh, I totally remember the joy when I new GBOR appeared in the school library! Everyone scrambled to be the first to check it out. And I do remember those dudes!
ReplyDeleteNow, my son loves to pour through GB and Ripley's. Tradition, you know. :)
Dawn - yeah Ripley's was another one I would get at the school book sale.
ReplyDeleteI know a set of identical twins who are 7 years old. One of them seems to be aging way faster than the other one though. She started losing her teeth about eight months before her sister, she got glasses a year before her sister, and she had her tonsils out a year before her sister too. Freaky, huh?
ReplyDeleteCora that is weird.
DeleteI was totally obsessed with the 1988 GBoWR--read it cover to cover, so yep, I recognize those twins. And the tallest lady too! We just watched a documentary about people who try to or have gotten into the book--terrible title, "Breaking and Entering" (really?), but interesting nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteLiz me too. I also loved ripleys.
