Chester County Man Shares Important Recipe. Peppers.

Behold it's glory.

OK this shouldn't even be considered a recipe because it's just so easy. But also it's sooo delicious. I give you: The Dr Van Huesen* Sphincter Burners.

OK. Get your aprons on and lets get cooking:

- Buy a bag of long hots. I get mine from Produce Junction in Exton because you get a huge bag for $2.
- Slice open the peppers and remove seeds and the walls. You know...the white part. I forget what they're called. The veins? No. I think it's the walls.
- Add a strip of prosciutto to the peppers then stuff it with cheese. I usually stuff some with mozzeralla and others with cheddar.
- Sprinkle some salt and pepper on top and drizzle some olive oil on top as well.
- Place in pan and cook for about 20 minutes at 350 or until cheese is melted.

Then? ...Enjoy.

*Van Huesen is one of my aliases.

Sauerkraut And Music To Cook To. Saint Patty's Day. Recipe.

Since I'll be celebrating my Irish heritage all week because of Saint Patty's Day, I embraced my German background by eating German last night. The meal was pork, mashed potatoes and Sauerkraut. And applesauce.

And when I cook, sometimes I like to play the music of the region for which I'm cooking. Here are some standards I'll play from my Ipod:

German Food: Traditional German Music (I forget the name of the album but there's a lot of Polka).

Italian: The Essential Dean Martin.

Cajun: Buckwheat Zydeco

BBQ: Jimmy Buffet, Beach Boys, Springsteen. Usually just at the beginning of Spring when it's starting to get nice out because it reminds me of the shore.

And just writing this reminds me that I really need to start cooking more. I guess I've been in kind of a funk and haven't been cooking much lately but I really need to get back to it. Anyone have any great recipes they think I should cook?

I've been wanting to make the ultimate mac and cheese for a while. Anyone have the ultimate recipe? I'm also looking for a few good fish recipes. One of my favorite simple standard salmon dishes is this:

Salmon Ala' Dr Zibbs

- Rinse salmon and rub with olive oil. Add salt and pepper.
- Rub dijon mustard on top of salmon.
- Sprinkle brown sugar on top of salmon.
- Grill on cedar plank (soak the plank first in water)

Enjoy!

BBQ Beef Recipe For The Crock Pot That's Easy And Tasty.

If you're looking for the most simple thing to cook that's going to taste great, here's the thing for you. Even if you can't cook - you can do this. Note that the picture I took didn't turn out so the picture above is stolen...but that's what it will look like.

BBQ Beef Sandwiches.

Ingredients:

Chuck Roast
Pepper
Salt
Paprika
Garlic Powder
Dark Beer (beef stock as a substitute)
Onions
BBQ Sauce (1/2 cup)
Worchestershire Sauce - 1 tablespoon
Mustard - 3 tablespoons

- Cut off pieces of fat from meat. Cut meat into about 4 - 8 pieces.

- Season the meat with the seasonings mentioned above.

- Sear all sides of meat in a frying pan.

- Put it in a crock pot with the other ingredients mentioned above. Add a generous portion of the seasonings, the beer, BBQ sauce and onions.

Cook in crock pot on high for 9 hours but check your crock pot. Newer crock pots take a bit less time and you can cook on low. You know when it's done when you can pull the meat apart with two forks.

When done, you may need to add a bit more BBQ sauce to the meat. Put the meat on rolls, top with coleslaw and ENJOY!

Questions That Maybe Bloggers Can Answer. Coleslaw. Shaving.

Here are some real questions that I'd like some answers to:

- I wonder how I should approach Twitter to get more blog followers? And where does this all end? Am I just wasting my time?

- Does anyone else think The Office has jumped the shark?

- Is there any subject that you'd really like me to blog about?

- How long until voice recognition works really good so I can write blog posts while driving?

- I need to get one of those man scaping razors. But where to start?

- Does anyone have a really, really great coleslaw recipe?

- Does anyone do TM? How long does it take a person to really get good at it? And I have ADHD so I have a very short attention span so take that into consideration.

Pork Chop Dinner and Recipe Shared With West Chester and World.

Posted by Picasa

Hi everyone. It's me, That Blue Yak's Dr Zibbs from West Chester, PA. And I'd like to share this simple meal with you. Come to think of it I don't feel like writing out the whole recipe but your local library has plenty of cookbooks so go there and do the work yourself. God some of you people are lazy.

I will tell you what you're looking at though. Pork chops with a garlic mushroom sauce. Twice baked potatoes (a bit burned on top but I like them like that). Fried green beans (in garlic butter). And applesauce.

This is a regular simple favorite here at Zibbs Central. And one thing I love to do is fry the green beans only for a bit so they stay nice and crunchy.

Stewed Tomato and Cheesy Shrimp ala' Zibbs Recipe.

Posted by Picasa

Here's a cheesy dish I'll dub Stewed Tomato and Shrimp ala' Zibbs. Here's how to make it.
(serves 4 or one big fat guy)

Ingredients
4 onions
3 cans stewed tomato
Mushrooms
salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper
1 lb. shrimp
Chicken stock
Olive oil
Cheese. I used velveeta because it's all I had on hand.

Instructions

- Heat skillet to medium high and add olive oil. Season shrimp then cook shrimp for about 1 minute per side. Remove from pan.
- Heat onions until translucent then lower heat to medium and add garlic.
- Add stewed tomatoes, mushrooms and about half cup of stock.
- Lower heat to simmer and cook for about 20 minutes or until shrimp is cooked.
- Add some of the velveeta and stir until nice and smooth. Cheese also thickens the dish so you may need to add a bit more stock if needed.

Velveeta is actually pretty good in this dish but don't use too much. I really only use velveeta as a back up cheese so use any cheese that melts well.

You can then serve this over pasta or rice. I also like to drip Tabasco over it.

Enjoy.

Pork Roast Recipe Is Tasty Goodness From Chester County

If you know me. You know that I love to cook. And since this is my blog and I can do anything I want, I'm going to give a little cooking instruction. Above is a really tasty boneless pork roast that anyone could cook. Seriously. If you don't cook, you can make this and everyone will love you. Here's all you have to do.

- Get yourself a boneless pork roast
- Mix up these ingredients: olive oil, salt, pepper, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, fresh rosemary (chopped) and a tablespoon of mustard.
- Now rub all of these ingredients all over the roast.
- Next, put the roast in a zip lock bag and add a few dashes of Worcestershire Sauce and squeeze an orange in the bag too.

Marinate for 4 - 6 hours.

- Take pork out of the bag and tie it with string. This will help it to cook evenly. (Do it better than the sloppy job I did in the picture above.
- Heat up your grill (or burner) and sear all sides of the pork. Then cook the pork under indirect heat for about 70-90 minutes or until internal temp reaches 160 degrees. Don't over cook as it will become very dry.
- Take the pork off the grill and let it stand for about 10 minutes.
I like to serve mine with saurkraut*, garlic mashed potatoes and applesauce.
*I like to cook mine in cast iron on the grill because I like to throw the kraut in at the end.

Chicken Fajitas Recipe Animation

I'm going Mexican tonight. I'm about to make some Chicken Fajitas for dinner. I've made them a many times but thought I'd go online to find a new recipe. I was watching some fajita cooking on the YouTube then came across this odd animation called Chicken Fajitas. It's pretty funny.
