Question About People Trying To Get Laid. West Chester Bars.

So I was out with a friend the other night and we're standing waiting for a band to start when these two girls approached us. Well, I think they approached us. They may have been standing there and I started to talking to them . I kind of forget but I am one of those types of people that talks to everyone.

So anyways, they started getting really flirty - which is good for my friend because he's single and got the phone number of the one chick - after of course I say to her, "You should go out with him...he's single".

He didn't seem to mind it too much.

When I told the other chick I was married she was like, "I don't care" - Say huhhh?. We left shortly after that so no - I was not raped.

So my question is this? What percentage of guys/girls do you think go to a bar with the specific intent of getting laid?

I know that when I was single, that was my mission EVERY TIME I went out - to meet girls. And hook up with them. And I think most guys are the same. But what about women? What percentage at the BEGINNING of the night have in their head that they want to meet some dude and go home with them?

And do you thinking it's a bit different now as compared to the 80's - when I was single?

I think there's two types of girls here: The ones that actually WANT to get laid, and then the gals that just wanna know if they still have the SKILLS to get laid. :)

I'd say I went out with the intent of bringing someone home 75% of the time in college but now that I'm older it's 0%.

KenallJaye - I think you may be right on that.

Gwen - 0% now. You're making me sad. Not even 1%?

I can only speak for the guys when I say 100%.

And by 'guys' I mean 'me.'

I am going to speak carefully here, or try...so here goes.
I think most of the time I go out looking my feeble best and if I catch the eye of a man I get giddy at the thought that I still have "it" (still? hmph for the first time I have "it"). However, the more I drink, tequila in particular, I just want to get laid.

ahem.

In my research, I have found that every woman wants to sleep with me. All of em. Even the ones who "claimed" they don't do. I can tell.

Nope. I never once went out looking to hook up with a stranger. Never even had a one night stand. I guess I needed to know someone and have a connection before I even considered that a possibility.

Or I was just terrified of getting pregnant and dumped like yesterday's garbage (like my ex-hubby did) and having to be a single mom all over again.

Boring, I know. Sorry. But more importantly....

Dude, you got married in the 80's???? Please tell me your tux was NOT pastel pink!!!!

Well, I've been with my husband since I was 18, so there weren't any bar trips I ever had where I wasn't already going home with a hot guy to get laid ;-) But!! I would totally have been the type to go out looking to meet someone...not a one night stand...but hopefully hooking up, and then seeing what happened another day or night.

Also? When I do go out now (married for 8 years, at 29 years young) and I am checked out or chatted up, it FREAKING MAKES MY YEAR. I've got 2 kids, and I love being made to feel like I still have "it."

Single girls? 95% - and maybe not go home with but at least share a grope with in a dark alley or dancefloor or corner booth at the bar.

Oldheads like me? Sweet jesus, leave me alone. It's bad enough I have to fight off octopus hands at home.

nope... bars are about meeting people.

when i used to go to bars, if i went home with a phone number (or a girl), i was happy.

if i didnt, i felt like it was a wasted night...

I have never EVER gone home with someone I've met from a bar. I go out to have fun with friends, not go home with an STD infested WC douchebag. :-)

I'm not sure my intentions, like my thought process in getting ready to go out included planning to take someone home... but once out and with a few drinks down, sure it became a possibility and on a few occasions a reality.

A better question is, why do women always seem to feel like they've lost some mysterious "it" after they reach a certain age and/or have had children? And let's face it, in the context of a bar, that mysterious "it" is more or less a basic willingness to get down and not much else...

I don't get that AT ALL!

I have 2 single friends. When we go out their motives are very different. Friend 1 is just looking for a guy to kiss. Friend 2 is hoping to meet a nice guy and maybe get a phone number. At the end of the night, neither is looking to go home with someone who is, in fact, a stranger. As their friend, I'd never let them do such a thing anyways. That's just dangerous. Truth.

When I was single, I was always open to meeting a cute guy at a bar, but if he was married...NO WAY. What a ho.

Hmm...when I go to the bar it's to hang with my friends. I rarely expect to find anyone there that will pique my interest.

Sounds...aloof, maybe? But, I just never found that drunken hook ups appealed to me, even in college.

I mean if I meet someone at a bar - great - but chances are slim of me going home with him that night. After a date and some drinks...that's a different story. LOL

Also, once a guy tells me he's married... done. I don't want that karma on me. lol

Here's the thing. Women "of the facebook/Twitter generation" appear to have a completely different sensibility than those born in the mid-seventies and earlier... take a poll, Zibbs. How many ladies that follow you are say, 22? How many of the women on here replying are AT LEAST 15 years older than that? I too, am married, male, and sort of find the idea of "hooking up at a bar" gross, but mostly because of the environment, and the odds of the lady being mostly tanked. If I were a 22 year old guy, sloppy drunk chicks might be more of a turn-on, but if I were single and 35 as opposed to married and 35, a "hookup" at some sort of social event where drunkenness wasn't the end-all, be-all (let's say, a nice hike or a kid's birthday party?) and I met some lovely lady who wanted to jump me... It'd be ON.
