Tomato Throwing Festival Not Happening In West Chester.

I just picked up a few tomatoes at the West Chester Growers Market. I will slice them, sprinkle them with some cheese (no - not velveeta) and sea salt then drizzle some nice olive oil over them. I will then eat them for my lunch.

I will not be throwing them at my family like these people at the Tomato Throwing Festival. Mostly because I only got 5 tomatoes and it would make for a very short festival.

The Tomato Festival does look like a great time though. If I was at that festival I think it would be a great opportunity to throw a rock at someone I don't like without getting caught. How would the catch you? Huh?

I did something similar when I was younger. Everyone was throwing leaves up in the air and there was this kid that I hated so I threw a stick at his head.

The perfect crime.

What? If you knew this kid you would have done the same thing.

As for this festival, I wonder if they ever thought combining it with the Running of the Bulls? It really wouldn't hurt the bulls but I bet it would really piss them off.

LostinSpace - see the band? I was the dude playing the bongos.

..not really.

I did however Tweet about how kick ass the chick on violin was. They were all great.

If you go to the Growers Market next week wear a sombrero so I will recognize you.

I'm assuming you'd eventually get the taste of tomato in your mouth at a throwing contest. Since I hate tomatoes, I think I'll pass.

Chocolate pudding, on the other hand...

Ow my eye! Tomatoes are too acidic. J.J. has the right idea with the chocolate pudding.

I hope when you throw your tomatoes they won't be marinated in sea salt ...I'd rather have that rock then, thank you

I think you should host a chocolate pudding throwing festival this summer, similar to your pillow fight festival of last year.

Our Junior/Senior egg fight at Halloween in high school was a fun event too!

Buffalodick - excellent. In that case I would have made sure to pack a hard boiled egg.

They do a similar thing in nearby Grainger County. Much smaller scale but yeah, I found out the hard way that they won't let you use green tomatoes. Dammit.

I am now craving tomatoes with sea salt and good olive oil. And maybe some yummy mozzarella cheese.

Damn it.

The video (taking forever to load on my decrepit PC) may put me off once watched...

Girl I - only some brands use these tomatoes.

Tomatina!!! My girlfreind and she says it's very PAINFULL, the acid in the tomato's hurts your skin after a while and kills if it gets in your eyes! I'm all for the pudding or jello, but being a Latina maybe Dulce de Leche would be better...
