The Guy That Says Yes. Obscure Simpsons Characters. Frank Nelson.

I wish the Simpsons would have more scenes featuring "The Guy Who Says Y-E-E-E-E-S?"

You know how he does it..it's like, "YEEESSSSS?" Go ahead, lets hear your imitation...

...uh. What the hell was that? Well, at least you tried. Keep practicing though*.

The character was based off of Frank Nelson. He was on the Jack Benny show. I never really saw The Jack Benny show except in clips but I know the yes guy was also in other TV shows throughout the years.

If you want to see the video of the Frank Nelson character doing the "Yeeees?", click here.

I can't find a video of The Simpsons Guy Who Says Yeeees so if you find it, leave the link in the comments.

Who are your favorite obscure Simpsons characters?

*try practicing by looking in a mirror. Maybe that'll help.

..and one of my fav obscure Simpson characters is Disco Stu.

Did you know he doesn't do ANY advertising? Not one bit.

Dr Zibbs said...

...and I even have the Disco Stu action figure. It's safely maturing in my attic.

nice topic :) (though I just saw something about a falling down video below so I'll be going there next)

The teen who says "It's crantastic" as he gets swept away in a sea of cran-juice.

Baby Gerald.

Jasper, though I guess he's more regular than obscure.

& Kodos and Kang (ditto the above)

..all good choices.

You're really not going to like me when I confess that I haven't ever seen the Simpsons. I know. Terrible.

That's too funny! When I read "YESSSS?", I knew right away the guy you were talking about, but I never knew his name before.

I think did an episode of I Love Lucy too. I'm imagining the line: "Yeeees, Mrs. Ricardo?"

Disco Stu is great. I've always been a fan of Kent Brockman for some reason, and of course, Troy McClure. I dig the Sea Captain for some reason, too.

Oh, and DUFF MAN!! OH YEAH!

How about Lyle Lanley from "Marge vs the Monorail"?

Oh yeah. Lyle Lanley.

You've never seen an entire Jack Benny Show? Damn - you're a baby!

WhiteTrashBBQ - Thanks. People on this blog usually call me old.

I'm with you on Disco Stu. But I think Dr. Nick Riviera is my current favorite. "Hello Everybody!"

I liked the aliens that wanted to eat the Simpson's on a Halloween special.
I am old enough to have watched the Jack Benny show, sigh. I don't look it though, yea!
I gave you an award today, come and get it. kiss, kiss.

I know, I know, you think I'm plenty redneck already, right? BUT, it turns out I'm a Nascar fan...AND, it turns out I can do some funky shit with web pages...AND, it turns out I've created an entire Nascar fantasy league based on Simpson's characters (many, many, many of them obscure).

Check out the Current Leaderboard - Mr Snookums holds a commanding lead

..and Cameron - I never knew you were a redneck. I'll have to make a mental note to start thinking less of you.

My favorites are Krusty and Mr. Burns, but they're not obscure. For obscure I'll have to go with Frank Grimes, Lionel Hutz, Drederick Tatum, and the Rich Texan.

Dr Zibbs said...

WWW - I agree with you on non obsure. Burns is tops. Along with Flanders.

My favorite Simpsons character is the Italian chef who works at Luigi's.

Yes, Zibbsy...I am a redneck. Not in the true, gun rack in the back window sense of the word, but I'm a redneck nonetheless. You've seen pictures of my wife, she's actually my sister.

Dr Zibbs said...

Cameron - pls send pictures.

Dr Zibbs said...

..and cut out the pictures of you so I don't have to do it. I'm a very busy man.

I love the Frank Nelson character, and I remember the real Frank Nelson making several appearances on Sanford and Son too...I do the FN impression much to my wife's dismay once in a while...

Organic Meatbag said...

Oh, and my favorite Simpsons characters: Moe, Duffman, Superintendent Chalmers, and Groundskeeper Willy...

I like the Sarcastic Man(sometimes known as , especially when Comic Book Guy tries to return his medium sized quote unquote ultimate belt.
"Do you have a receipt, quote unquote sir ?"
"Whoah, a fat, sarcastic Star Trek fan, you must be a devil with the ladies."
Love him.
