Here's the Song That Made Me Homesick
When I was in 5th grade I went to stay with my cousins in Chicago for a few weeks over Summer break. It was great. My Uncle was a surgeon so they had this great condo in downtown Chicago near the Museum of Science and Industry. I remember being fascinated by the "in the future exhibit" where they had a video phone exhibit.
Every morning this was the song that was on the radio - Magic my Pilot. I just heard this on the radio and thought I'd post it.

DAMN IT! I meant to write "Magic BY Pilot" not "Magic MY Pilot". I swear I do proof read this stuff before posting. OK. Quit complaining.
Why don't you just fix it instead of calling attention to it in your comments?? Heyyy, if you press that edit button and type "by" over "my," whattya know? Oh oh it's magic! Y'know??
Thank you for visiting my blog;) You have an interesting one here:0

i am sorry some people got on your case over at my place

i truly am
Why didn't you mention this over at my place earlier? It's perfect! And has been added.
This song may be the best pop song of the '70s. It's impossible to find the original recording online, as iTunes and Amazon both pimp a remake that they try to pass off as the real deal (last I checked).
I knew a guy in school whose last name was "Magic," and we would sing this song whenever he walked by: "Whoa, ho, ho Frank Magic!"
Why are they all wearing neck braces.
Great post. Great tune. Here's one for you at my place...
I loved that song - had it on a 45 and played the crap out of it on my portable record player with pennies taped to the needle arm.
Anyone having trouble with videos on blogs? Every one I click lately stops at 2 seconds.
Dadburned Dr. Zibbs, now I'm feeling lonely and homesick for Chicagoland.
Oh shit! I was just looking for this to download! I always loved this song when I was growing up! I just heard it on one of my son's movie soundtracks! Thanks!!
You must be a little younger than me-I remember it when I was about 8-9? Somewhere around there...
As a kid, the Science and Industry was practically my second home. And actually, when my grandfather first moved to Chicago, it was his first home. He would visit the museum after work and sleep on the front lawn until the next morning. This was like the 1930s or 1940s or something, so...Eventually he found an apartment and later moved to the Chicago suburbs.
Anyways, I'm now trying to carry on the tradition to some degree - every Dec. 24th, I round up my kids and we swing by the museum. There's a big Xmas Tree display and there's no admission that day which is even nicer.
I'm not sure it's the best museum on earth - it has a degree of hokeyness to it - but it's always a ton of fun.
MicGAr - I'm adding you to the blogroll right now.
Mr Miller - when you go to the museum, do you also celebrate your grand pappy by wearing the hobo clothes that he wore or do you just wear your street clothes?
