Beatles, Weird Lookalikes and Movies.

I love the Beatles.

I love movies.

I'm pretty good when I'm watching a movie and suspending my belief and really getting into the movie.

But...while I'm watching this Beatles movie on VH1 I just can't do it. Whenever I see people playing the Beatles I just can't do it. The actors in this one are actually not bad but I can't get over that they don't look like the Beatles.

I'm still gonna watch it though. OH MY GOD! John's Mum just died!

Here are the real Beatles in Manchester in 1963. Who other than Miss Alex are Beatles fans?

Wow Zibby... Everytime you shout me out it's like a Chirstmas Miracle... *Tiny Tim voice* was his name Tiny Tim wasn't it? Or was that singer with the guy with the ukulele? You get me... Thank you for the shout out *curtsey* Cause your shouts are worth a million views... if for even a brief moment...

The pressures on!

I always feel like I like the Beatles because I'm supposed to, you know? Were they that good, that groundbreaking, or was it just good timing and an incredible hype machine behind them? Were they Nirvana, or Backstreet Boys?

I inherited all my mom's old Beatles albums. I could sing practically ANY Beatles song. It would hurt your delicate little lady ears, but I could do it.

When it comes down to it, everyone is either a Beatles fan or a Stones fan.

Me? I like The Who.

Well, I did go see some sing-a-likes, once. At The Hollywood Bowl. It was Sir George Martin's birthday.

They did I Am The Walrus with a full chorus. It was pretty cool.

Beatles fan here. I've turned my children into fans also. Thankfully! Now we can all listen to some decent music on road trips!

I'm a big fan of beatles, talk to them all the time. Does that count?

That's definitely classic Beatles at their best. I remember when their "long" hair was such a controversy. Now we could call that look the definition of decorum. Still, I can't say much for the lyrics. I can hear it now: "Let's see, 'She loves you, Ya, Ya, Ya.' Yes that about wraps it up Paul. Let's cut a hit."

Nope, not a Beatles fan. Give me Pink Floyd any day of the week. Now, that was ground-breaking music!

*not a fan of The Stones or The Who either...

I love the Beatles (yeah yeah yeah...). The early hits were fun, but I like the later stuff even more. Here Comes the Sun... Two of Us... Eleanor Rigby... lots of good stuff.

Although I agree with some of the others that The Who & Pink Floyd were also pretty darn awesome. Just different.

I do like the Beatles, simply because my mum does and so I grew up listening to their music

My aunt went to see them a few times in the 60's, she said it was awful, you couldn't hear them for all the screaming and the whole place smelled of wee from where all the silly little girls had got a bit too excited.

Also, they all should have stopped making music after the Beatles split up (with the exception of John Lennon) ... Paul McCartney in particular. I'll never forgive him for Mull of Kintyre.

Followed you here from Kansas Chaos..(did you see me? I was the one jumping in the bushes every time you turned around..)

Love your blog!! Oh, and I love the Beatles too. (And yes, I throw the word "love" around a lot.)

I love the Beatles...and I love the fact that my 5 year old came home from school the other day and had learned about the Beatles and could name them all.

I love the Beatles. But having lived in Japan and North America, whenever I tell people that I'm from Liverpool they always go "Ah! So you must like the Beatles!" WITHOUT FAIL. So usually I just lie to get a reaction and say "nah, the Beatles were just the Backstreet Boys of their day. The Rolling Stones, man, they were a BAND!"

Oh, and my Mum actually saw the Beatles in Manchester in the Royal Court Theatre. She said it was shit because she couldn't hear the band through all the screaming.

Not a big fan of the Beatles. I think they just got a lot of publicity for doing what musicians do. The ground-breaking stunt was letting their hair grow past their ears and mortifying all the "old" people. After that, they were Paris Hilton. Famous for being famous.

The Beatles were the Backstreet Boys of their day in that there was a powerful commercial machine creating hype that was as large as their creative forcein the beginning years AND they were the Dylan too--creating soulful music that lit a generation not just by the beauty and FUN of their music, but by the sociopolitical cultural revolution that THEY became the spokespeople for. It is hard for "younger" people (ie those that didn't LIVE through those years) to understand that as creative as the Beatles were--they loved playing POP and POP didn't have the dirty connotation that it does now. So you say you love the Stones or the Who and somehow that was a purer creative force? I doubt the Stones or the Who would be known today if the Beatles hadn't blown the lid off and opened the door for them.......Oh, and John Lennon was an ass for most of his life to most of the people around him. Great guy.

Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is probably the world's most perfect record.
