Gilligans Island, Honeybees and Peter Brady Dancing Match.

So I'm taking a little break from working in the yard. And when I look out on my deck I see the carpenter bees I'll be killing later with my electric tennis racket (see actual image on my header above).

Then it got me thinking about when the gals on Gilligan's Island did their Honeybees routine.

I forgot just how bad Mrs Howell was. Once you finish watching the hotties, play it again and note how Lovey is terrible every second of the song. And I thought Peter Brady couldn't dance. Jesus Christ! What a fool. And when she says the word "ring" I want to rush the stage and tackle her snobby ass!

And Mary Ann here reminds me a bit of my wife when my wife had longer hair.

I so wish she would have hurt her hip like when Alice was Hula dancing on the Brady Bunch.

Damn it I wish that happened!

That is some rocking clip you got there!! Um yeah, i really don't enjoy how they refuse to let Mary Ann dance all sexily because Ginger is suppose to be the babe of the show. And really, i find her much too, um, prissy. Props for choosing Mary Ann for a hot wife! buzzz buzzzzz

I also enjoy the pants there were wearing, very smooth, very fluid, very sixties. Very emphasis on the hips and tush. nice.

ok, an yeah, i will not become one of your followers because dammit you already have 200 and even though i am really enjoying your blog (and it is just lovely btw) no no no, will not follow. you are hogging the followers zibbs!

have fun whacking the bees with the tennis racket!! :)

Oh my god, this was horrible. Seriously, I couldn't even finish watching it.

Do you think Mrs Howell is trying to dance bad, you know, as part of the character? Or is she really trying to do a good job and just sucks horribly?

And which one is Mary Ann? The brunette or red-head? You must be much older than me, I'm not that familiar with this show. :)

I saw "Ginger" on TMZ the other day...they said she is 75!

Ahhhh the 60's and 70's....now I know why my mother worried so much about me ;)

Oh man, that was great. I kind of like Mrs. Howell, she's not so bad. I used to love watching that show, I remember that episode really well. The rock group didn't rescue them because they were afraid the Honeybees would steal their fans. Hope I didn't just ruin the ending for anyone.

Devil's D - She was trying to be good.

Skyler's - I don't think there is a Ginger man. I've never heard of one.

Sista #2 - if what you're saying is that you want ME to use that on you...the answer is maybe.

So your wife looks a little like Mary Ann....hmmm.

Dr Zibbs said...

Cameron - might be a swapping situation?

That's fine but my policy is I go first then there is a 30 day waiting period for your turn..

..then a lot of legal stuff....

I always preferred Mary Ann over Ginger too. I was surprised to see a real record player in that clip. I could have sworn the professor made theirs out of coconuts and bamboo.

OMG, now I know where designer Ann Demeulemeester got her inspiration !! See those big ladybugs on their sweaters ? Got a scarabee pinbrooch like that last week !
..
Don't you think (maybe due to the quality of the film) the guy in the pink trousers looks like an over-aged Tom Cruise ??

That was spectacularly horrible. But your wife must be HAWT!

Lol. I bought that Jeopardy dvd for my friend for Christmas. The bargain bin was my first stop. My friends deserve no less.

If I were stuck on Gilligan's Isle...I wouldn't have been at that little talent show and neither would the professor if ya know what I mean ;)

I can't believe I don't remember this episode at all! This was one of the only shows that played on the one channel we got at the cottage.

Mrs. Howell couldn't just not dance - she was reciting rather than singing.

Notice how none of them were scrawny?

Dr Zibbs said...

Jeannie they weren't scrawny because of all the coconut cream pie they were eating.

Stopped back in to let you know that I have written about you, yes you! (sort of) on my non-award winning, unfamous blog "Stir Crazy in the Suburbs"!
