You've GOT To Hear Dawn Langstroth. The Voice Of Angel.

As you may know, I love listening to my Ipod.

Sometimes I just need the soothing voices that only ladies like Karen Carpenter, Anne Murray and Norah Jones can provide.

It just soothes my heart. Kind of like when there's an escaped gorilla and they have to bring a violinist in to calm him down so the zoo keeper can get in close enough to shoot him with a tranquilizer dart. You know.

Well anyways, as you may have read in this post, Anne Murray's daughter Dawn Langstroth was reading my @FatherTwitter tweets and told her mom Anne Murray. And now they're BOTH followers*.

So I went onto the YouTube and on Dawn's website and you're not going to believe how great her voice is. I just can't believe how great she sounds! It almost makes me cry. I predict she's going to be a huge star.



*and not to brag but also @DrZibbs followers (stands up straighter and looks around to see if anyone is looking).

The Carpenters. Mental Institution Songs.

For some reason when I get really depressed or sad, songs that I remember from ages 4 - 9 make me feel better. The songs might be corny as hell, but I guess it brings me back to a time when I didn't worry about things.

And believe me - I spend way too much time over analyzing and worrying about things. I always think that if I were ever put into a mental institution, there are certain songs that they could play just to calm me down.

Here's one of them. "We've only Just Begun" by The Carpenters. Enjoy.

The Monkees Mania Machine. Pretty Impressive Manufacturing.

So I was watching the Monkees bio on The Biography Channel last night and if you think about it, it's pretty amazing. "Let's get a bunch of nobody kids, and have them kind of imitate The Beatles. And we'll then we'll make a series and we'll have lots of slapstick. Oh yeah - and we'll just get a bunch of song writers to write the songs."

On paper this sounds like a recipe for disaster but do you know what? It worked. How did that happen? And I'm not saying that they're the best group ever but it's pretty amazing that this was a manufactured group and that the music still holds up.

American Idol's Simon Cowell Critiques The Brady Kids On Sunshine Day.

OK. I know most of you gay blades are watching American Idol* so here's something to watch at the commercial. It's the Brady's Bunch kids doing Sunshine Day followed by my interpretation of the American Idol judges reviewing them.



Randy: Hey - yeah. Oh I don't know dogs. There was something going on there but....I don't know. It was way pitchy too. Way pitchy dude.

Kara: I'm sorry. It needs work. There's something there but....

Paula: I think that there is...something there but....I mean the outfits are cute - a bit of 70's style that was kind of cool - but I don't know. You guys have something - you just need to go back and put it together a bit.

Simon: (looks at other judges) Are you out of your God damned fucking minds? What the hell was that? .....Where do I even start? The singing, the dancing, the clothes? This must be a joke. I can say without a doubt that the coreography was the worst I've seen in my life. The cheerful sappiness then you go into the fake serious part of the song and then the younger boy with the least talent comes to the forefront for a solo? Are you out of your....THAT'S IT. I QUIT!!!

*I'm watching American Idol too but for research purposes.

Famous Blogger To Stage Partidge Family Tribute

Holy cow. Look there on the side bar. I've got 70 followers! And I think I love you. Most of you. So in honor of how huge I am, I'm going to be whipping up a little re-enactment of the famous Partridge Family Song, "I Think I Love you". Check it out and let me know if you'd like a part in this soon to be historic production. The following roles are already taken:

The dreamy Keith Partridge - Will be played by yours truly. Except I'm gonna "man it up a bit".
Ruben Kinkade - Will be played by Some Guy if agrees to shave his beard and wear elevator shoes.
The guy next to Ruben Kinkade - Will be played by McGone because he's one of the only readers that's a guy and has dark hair.
Danny Partidge - Will be played by Anonymous since he's such a huge fan of Danny Bonaduce (even though I just realized he's removed his blog. What up with that Anonymous?)



I think the most sought after roles will be the part of Lauri and the chick in the video hiding behind the streamers and admiring David Cassidy. I will be conducting private casting meetings in the near future so make sure you're all properly groomed , well rested and prepared.
