What Do You Guys Drink? Victory Beer, Bourbon, Gin and More!

I've been drinking less that usual these days. I guess just to be healthier plus I think I'm kind of like some over eaters that sit and eat a bag of chips without even knowing they're doing it. I found myself just drinking when I really didn't want to be drinking. So I've slowed down a bit.

But I still do imbibe. And lately I've been sipping on some gin and tonics. Yummm-meeee! Specifically Tanguery and tonic. I got drinking them because that's what my girlfriend drinks and they're refreshing! Sip...ahhhhhh! But I'm not sure I'll be drinking them into the Fall and Winter because they seem more like a Summer drink.

Here's a list of the other things that I drink:

Victory Beer - I'm so happy that I live ten minutes away from this brewery. I like to drink the beer there and in growlers that I have filled up. Here are a few of my favorites: Braumeister (available on tap only), Hop Devil, Prima Pils, Storm King Stout. And many more.

Red Wine - I like most varieties but tend to stay away from anything too sweet. If I had to pick just one drink to have this would be it.And on the subject of wine I've been drinking out of smaller wine glasses because those glasses with the huge bowl just get you too fiiiiiired up! (And I've been calling the bowl of the wine glass the "bulb" for years I still think that somewhere they're referred to as bulbs).

White wine  - love sipping on white but mostly drink when I'm eating a dinner that calls for a white. Favorite characteristics I like are buttery and oaky. May I recommend the Kendall Jackson Chardonnay? And I can't stand cheap booze* but I've got to tell you that Barefoot Brand wine is super inexpensive and tastes good.

Whiskey - I like bourbon and scotch. Favorite brands are Dewers and Crown Royal. Here's how to make me the perfect drink.

Margarita - I love these but to tel you the truth I've only had about six of them all year. I'll have to get on that.

And that's pretty much it. Unless I'm at a party and someone ask me to try something. But I'm open to suggestions.

*At least a few times a year I'll take one sip of a cheap wine and just walk over to the sink and pour it down the drain. I don't know how some of the really cheap wines even get sold. 

Storm King Stout. Victory Beer. Into My Belly.

There she is. The Victory Beer Storm King Imperial Stout.  9.1 % ABV.

Hold on for a second. Sip. Ahhhhh. Sip. Ahhhh. Sip. Ahhhhh. 

If you've never had an imperial stout this is the one to try. The color is almost black. And it tastes kind of like  a thick, coffee/chocolate concoction. Complex flavors. It's bitter and sweet.

You can buy it in bottles but if you're lucky like me you live near Victory Brewing. It's in Downingtown, PA. So are you gonna try it? Are ya? Are ya? *keeps poking you in the arm*

I've always enjoyed talking to interesting strangers. But bore asses? Forget it. And I'm pretty good at sizing people up before I make initial contact.

But in the days of old if some weirdo started talking to me I would be friendly and talk back. Not anymore. I've aged if you will. Like how I told people in the movie theater the other month to stop talking. So I was in Victory Beer* the other week and some dude sat next to me and this is what happened...like this was his actual opening statement...

Dude: So I was at the Post Office and they take your picture with the white background. My mom said I had to get the picture taken and then I'll send one to my girlfriend who lives in Guatamala.

(I just keep staring ahead).

Dude: (responding to TV) Man this country is messed up these days man. I don't know how they're gonna turn it around. Right?

(I look at him and just nod. I notice he's got this fucked up eye).

Then he babbles on about things. On and on. Probably said at least seen or eight more things. I don't say a word. In the past I would have talked to the dude because I'm so fucking polite but there's no way I'm going to spend an hour talking to this idiot. So finally...

Dude: (frustration in his voice) You know...You looked like an intelligent guy. I was just trying to have a conversation.

This is when I turned and I swear to God I said this...

Me: I'm sorry. I can't hear. (As if I was deaf).

OH YES I DID!! Case closed!

*And that beer pictured is the Victory Beer "Silver Back". It's a combo of Storm King Stout and Golden Monkey. Pretty darn tasty.

I'll Be Needing Everyone To Pitch In and Help

See that tree to the left? It's a Silver Maple. I have eight in my yard. They sure do drop a lot of leaves. Do you see that spot right there in my driveway? That's where my car was! Can you grasp what type of leaf situation I've got here? God it's going to take me forever to rake up all of those leaves. I wish I had someone to help me.....
