Chester County Man Endorses Wawa Hoagie. Hoagie Fest.

*singing* "Hoagie fest! Hoagie fest! (something, something, something, something*) Hoagie fest!"

That's the Wawa hoagie fest song that they usually play at the gas pumps during the Wawa hoagie fest celebraish but for some reason they aren't doing it this year. Good thing because it's really annoying. I bet people complained. But I do love my Wawa.

Have you guys heard of Wawas? They're convenience stores in the Northeast and they''re awesome. Great food, clean, fast service. I don't think I've ever met a person that says they don't like Wawa.

And now I will tell you about the sandwich above. It's the Wawa prime rib sandwich and it's DELIIIIIISH!

Please get one and tell me what you think of it. Here's how I order mine:

Prime rib sandwich
horseradish sauce
Provolone cheese
onions
jalapenos
grated cheese.

AWWWWW YEAH!!!

*the "something" part is the part where I forget the words

West Chester Man Makes Simple Prosciutto Sandwich.

Ahhh. Sometimes life's simple things are the best. Here's a picture of a sandwich I made last summer that I found on my pocket telephone. Whenever I make something this simple I think, "Mmmm. I should make this more often." Then I forget.

It's just:

Crunchy-ass roll
Prosciutto
Mozzarello cheese
Roasted red peppers
Tomato (from my garden)
Basil (from my garden)
Pepper
Olive oil drizzled over top

And enjoy.

BBQ Beef Recipe For The Crock Pot That's Easy And Tasty.

If you're looking for the most simple thing to cook that's going to taste great, here's the thing for you. Even if you can't cook - you can do this. Note that the picture I took didn't turn out so the picture above is stolen...but that's what it will look like.

BBQ Beef Sandwiches.

Ingredients:

Chuck Roast
Pepper
Salt
Paprika
Garlic Powder
Dark Beer (beef stock as a substitute)
Onions
BBQ Sauce (1/2 cup)
Worchestershire Sauce - 1 tablespoon
Mustard - 3 tablespoons

- Cut off pieces of fat from meat. Cut meat into about 4 - 8 pieces.

- Season the meat with the seasonings mentioned above.

- Sear all sides of meat in a frying pan.

- Put it in a crock pot with the other ingredients mentioned above. Add a generous portion of the seasonings, the beer, BBQ sauce and onions.

Cook in crock pot on high for 9 hours but check your crock pot. Newer crock pots take a bit less time and you can cook on low. You know when it's done when you can pull the meat apart with two forks.

When done, you may need to add a bit more BBQ sauce to the meat. Put the meat on rolls, top with coleslaw and ENJOY!

Do Not Eat. Reading Terminal Market. Food. Philly.

Posted by Picasa

Look at this picture that I snapped in front of some restaurant at the Reading Terminal Market in Philly. It shows some food and the sign says, "PLEASE DO NOT EAT THIS SAMPLE!!!"

Isn't this just asking for some wise ass - like me - to take a big ole' bite out of it or steal it and sprinkle a few crumbs on the plate? Then leave a note on the plate that said, "SORY, I KAN NOT REED".

I think it would more effective if they just put unappetizing things around the food to deter people. Like fake bugs or urinal cakes. I don't know.

Crawfish PoBoy, Restaurant, West Chester's Crawdaddy's.

Posted by Picasa

Mmmm. Look at that Blackened Crawfish Poboy picture I just found on my computer from a year ago. I got that Poboy at Crawdaddy's Bayou Bar and Grill at 1215 West Chester Pike in West Chester. And I hereby declare that it was totally tasty. It was crawfish, lettuce, onion, tomato and some type of sauce (I think a mustard sauce) all packed into a bun.

Don't you wish you were eating it? Lets pretend together.

And for the gift giving planning, crawfish is one of my favorite foods.

The Pork's Closed - The Moose Should Have Told You

Imagine the horror - We take a train from Malvern station to Market Street - Philly. Imagining the DiNic's Italian style roast pork sandwich (see delicious photo above). We have plenty of time - it's only 4:00 and Reading Terminal Market is open until 6:00. We approach the stools and as we're about to sit down, the dude says, "Sorry, we're closed."

"Closed?" I ask - lip beginning to quiver. "We came all the way from West Ches....."

"Closed - we sold out."

That was the terrible scene that I encountered this weekend. My friend and I had to settle for a Rick's cheese steak. Not even close!
