Coatesville Fires, Arson and The Bloodhound Gang.

What motivates someone to be an arsonist? The big story here in the Philly suburbs is the string of fires that have been set in Coatesville since January 1. There have been 17 fires. 17! Nobody has been hurt thankfully.

Don't worry, I'm about 10 miles from Coatesville and I rarely go there because its pretty dumpy. The downtown that is.

Last week the Guardian Angels arrived in an attempt to help and Coatesville has just declared a State of Emergency. Unbelievable. I hope they catch the dopes that are setting these fires. My guess is that the Coatesville fires are being set by gangs. Gangs in Chester County. Ridiculous.

And I mean no disrespect but everyday when I pick up the paper and read about the arson, "Fire Water Burn" AKA "The Roof is on Fire" song by The Bloodhound Gang goes through my head. So here it is.

Tell me this isn't a catchy song. Go ahead. I dare you.

In case you're wondering, this story about Coatesville is an attempt to get hits from people searching this huge local story.

Remember when I wrote about the West Chester bomber a few months ago? Tons of hits.

Yeah, I'm a hit whore like that.

I sure hope they catch whoever is doing this. And then that they hang them by their schlongs.

I'm still getting people searching Google for the Hagar Twins from Hee Haw. Who knew? It's too bad about all the fires.

And also? Thanks. Now the song is in my head for the rest of the day.:)

have you ever burned anything? It's freaking awesome! I totally see how you get into it. I remember burning animals, that was the best! The best Dr. the best!

Slopmaster - I do love burning wood in my backyard. And burned an old wooden ladder one time. Never burned an animal though. What kind of animals did you burn?

Dr Z - this reminds me of this Onion article which always makes me laugh. You will love it.

We were in Coatesville once, with a group of people, at a campground... until the middle of the night when we were being so harassed because our parents called the cops on some grown boys/men who had holes in the shower walls and were watching us girls.

Yeah, I think I'll just keep my distance.

Falw - I just read that. Pretty funny. And I wish you would write some posts (snapping fingers like the sisters do) like now!

Lisa - that was you?

Philly - that's right. Sister #2 is back in Florida. I guess I can take her off my list of suspects.

Now uhhh...when's the last time you've been to Coatesville? Hmmmmmm?

I used to live in Michigan and we got like 60 arsons on Oct. 30. That's Devil's Night and, coincidentally, my birthday. But people there usually were happy about arsons bc they'd get rid of vacant houses that no one could afford to demolish. Even when the fires led to dangerous explosions, the TV news couldn't find anyone to talk sad about it.

"I'm glad that house is gone!" people would say.

My resident ESPer informs me that the fires are being set by...an arsonist.

I must admit to being somewhat of a mini pyro. Not like arson or anything like that-but I love to stoke a great fire.
Let the m-f'er burn!

S of Thomas - that sucks. And I did see you post about it a few minutes ago.

As for me calling Coatesville dumpy, I meant all of it except for where you are.

We sang that in church last sunday. Cool huh?

Catchy. Si. M'fer.

Good morning! I was a name dropping fool in my 100-4-100 post, and I mentioned You. (Yes, it's a clever little way to pimp my blog today!) Come on over.

The Guardian Angels are still around? Must look like a senior citizens handicap parking patrol..

I would think the main motivation for an arsonist would be:

"Wanting to see something on fire."

Duh.

Mooog - I knew you were smart.

Has anyone checked into the current locatation of the Heat Miser? He'd be my #1 suspect if I were a Detective.

Ahhhh, the Bloodhound Gang.

Weren't you supposed to go see them?

"Mighty tighty whitey and I'm smugglin' plums."

THAT's a personal favorite of mine.

Bloodhound Gang is the group that taught me that "Fist can be a verb."

But yeah, that sucks about the fires. ;)

so did you get mad hits like you was Rod Carew?

Well, as a future forensic scientist, I HOPE it's just rival gangs or some other nonsense. Normally, serial arsonists becomes serial killers eventually. Arson is a big indicator of sociopathy....

Just sayin'.
