Eskimos Are real Accoding to Nova
I really wasn't going to blog tonight but this you've got to hear about. There's a series called Nova (sciencey) and they was just talking about the Eskimos - one of the groups of people that I love to make fun of because they're different and I could probably take one down - one punch - it's over. But who are these peoples? We all know that they live in the cold - but what else? Now I know everything about them because I just watched an hour special. Did you know some of the husbands traded their wives off for "goods"? It's a fact. Even though some of these subservient looking round faced ladies looked innocent -they weren't! Some had Sifolice (I know that's the wrong spelling but I never had it so how would I know how to spell it)? But you have to admit, they are adorable (see picture above).
I'm not going to ruin it for you, but these guys can catch a seal while in their igloo! Imagine that. There is one disturbing fact though - a dark side. They want to be called something like Inuit instead of Eskimo. Hold on there Frosty. You earn my respect THEN we'll talk nicknames. Either way, watch the Nova - you might not only learn something about an Eskimo -you might learn something about (lean toward screen) ..YOURSELF. (DISCLAIMER: I Love Eskimos - Inuits are dicks..but I love Eskimos)
That is all.

Chester County Residents Prepare For Tonight's Solstice Moon
Tonight, June 18th - is the Solstice Moon. For those living in Chester County, PA , the ideal time for the show will happen at moonrise which will be between 8:07 and 8:15. What will you see? As the moon starts to appear in the horizon it's gonna look HUGE! Now this is important people - do not panic. I can't stress this enough.
Just like the old "got your nose" trick, the large moon is just an illusion. In fact, even photos of the solstice moon don't show a moon that is larger than average. Huh? I'm still going to try my own experiment by throwing a rock at it. If the rock does hit the moon, then I think some people are going to have a little bit of explaining to do.
Check out the Chester County Astronomical Society for more fun facts or to read more sciencey stuff about the Solstice Moon, click here.

Unbelievable Lunar Eclipse Photos From West Chester
The lunar (say: Loon-Er) eclipse pictures taken last night by THAT BLUE YAK are indeed unbelievable as see above. Look at that! That is an actual photo taken by a non NASA camera. Wow! OK, the pics are crap but looking through binoculars it was pretty impressive.
To see a cool picture, check out Home Town Hangover, one of our favorite West Chester blogs. We actually were reading their blog while watching American Idol and were motivated enough go outside and get all science-y.
To get some really detailed information and pictures locally, check out the Chester County Astronomical Society.

Washington University Study is Last Straw for Chimps - US Raises Chimp Attack Threat Level to Plaid
The University of Washington has revealed that walking on two legs is easier than walking on four - according to the National Academy of Sciences. (see story by clicking on the following word: banana ).
According to researchers, walking on two feet uses 3/4 less energy.
Spokeschimp Bobo McGee doesn't give a crap about the study and relayed the following statement via sign language through his human interpreter.
"This is bullshit! Look at Mr. Giggles on that God damned machine - he looks like a clown! We are tired of being dressed up in human clothes - and tired of doing experiments and overall, tired of being made to look like fools. Why the hell are you humans always pulling this crap?"
After being given half an orange, Mr McGee went on to say,
"Oh you'll pay...You'll pay!"
The Department of Chimpanzee Security is now saying that the study has enraged chimps and the alert level has been elevated to plaid since the release of the study.
US officials have been monitoring the growing chimp rage in recent years and believe that the Washington University study is the tipping point. Top officials think a Summer attack WILL happen. That Blue Yak has obtained and exclusive statement from Bill Darlak, an ex undercover chimp operative. Mr Darlak thinks the threats should be taken very seriously,
"I am VERY, VERY concerned for the country this Summer. I was undercover for two years at several chimp training facilities and after you get over the humor of these funny little rascals and their human like behavior, you see the rage these apes have. It is quite frightening. I really wanted to stay with them longer but was alerted by animal experts that my chimp costume was really a gorilla costume. My superiors insisted that I abort my mission"
Officials are asking the public to be on the lookout for the following chimps:
