Life Is Short

So I got a phone call this morning with the news that my brother-in-law died. He was 49. He was a perfectly healthy person a few years ago until they found and removed a brain tumor from him.

My sister had to retire to care for him. And she never, ever complained about it. They have one daughter who was about 5 when he was diagnosed with the brain tumor so she always knew him as someone that had been sick and not 100% there.

The amazing thing is that even though he would forget things like thinking he was at work earlier that day - or that he had just talked to his dad who had died years earlier- he someone never lost his dry sense of humor.

So I'm off this morning to see my sister and niece.

Life is short. Don't waste it.

I'm sorry Zibbs - death is a sad thing, but I do like the last line of your post "Life is short. Don't waste it." Simple and to the point - just the way I like it.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
When my father died I said the same thing, life is short, live for the day. I've been doing that and telling people the same message for years. Worrying about maybe's makes things worse.
I thought at the time and still think now that the passing of someone special makes you value your time and the positive from your loss is that you and people in contact with you benefit from a message of hope.
Keep spreading the live life message. It keeps your wonderful memories alive and can inspire thousands.
Luck be with you.

I wish I had read this earlier! So sorry for your loss. That's so sad. You're sister sounds like a wonderful person. Not all people hang in there in sickness and in health, but that's what marriage is about.

Hang in there.
