5 Things I Love and 5 Things I Hate.

Here are 5 things I love followed by 5 things I hate.

Love

1) Onions - I couldn't imagine cooking without them.

2) Dining/drinking Alfresco - there's nothing I love more than having a few drinks while watching people. I seriously love this.

3) Traveler dress shirts from Jos A Bank. Best everyday dress shirts ever.

4) The wind - nothing better than a warm day and the winds blowing. For some reason it gives me a calming feeling.

5) My vegetable garden - I expand my "The That Blue Yak Garden of Hope" every year. I can't wait to get it going this year. Lettuce will be first in there.

Hate

1) Canned beets -the smell of them can make me puke. I haven't had them since I was a kid.

2) Paying for greeting cards - I've been having my kids make their own greeting cards for years. And everyone loves them a lot better than some of the crappy cards that kids usually give to people.

3) People that don't look me in the eye.

4) Brian Secrest -Other than him being able to speak clearly, I don't understand the appeal.

5) Women that talk non stop about their kids. Telling people every detail. Give it a break will you? Nobody cares.

This is good to know! My supervisor won't look me in the eye - I stare at her and make her even more uncomfortable! It's a power move... Then I got laid off. BACKFIRE!

I really enjoy vegetables.

Who is this Brian Secrest fellow? ;)

This one time my daughter... nah just playing. I have no garden :( and now I want one.

I hear ya. I used to be a teacher and you would NOT believe how many mothers would hang out for hours after school just babbling to me about their kids potty training and stuff. Would it have been rude to scream "I! DON'T! CARE!" at them? I think so. So I didn't. But, dammit, I was THINKING it!

We have a garden too, and got wonderful heritage seeds for it. Nothing like eating food you grew yourself! I hear some of the big seed companies are developing produce that won't go to seed or reproduce, how insanely greedy of them is that?!

I cannot wait to get outside in the garden!

Brian Secrest? Are you talking about Fauxhawky McGee?

I love the breeze on a warm day, too, but am too phobic of bugs to enjoy dining alfresco much.

I never buy greeting cards, either. My kids make all of ours, too.

Was that too much information about my kids???

Nice list...I agree with almost all of them, especially the al fresco one!

I don't garden but my husband used to have a kickass garden at our old house...I miss that fresh from the garden salsa!

I'm trying to decide whether I'm surprised that you never blog about your garden (at least as long as I've been reading). I'm not too surprised, really.

If I ever have a kid, I hope I can somehow install a kid-talk editor/censor to discern the interesting kid stories from the other 98 percent. Fortunately, the women I work with seem to have installed theirs. The dudes ... another story.

Uh...maybe you mean Ryan Seacrest? I'd hate him too if I couldn't pronounce his name. ;-)

I love big ass thunderstorms. The kind that rock the house.

I hate houses with fake shutters.

Do you hate him so much you cannot remember his name?

Just who is this Brian you speak of?

I hate tardiness.
I hate seafood.
I hate dark beer.
I hate mushrooms...just terrified of them.
Oh, and I hate going to the movies.

People watching is one of my most favorite things EV-AHHH!!!!

A big reason why I telecommute? I don't have to listen to everybody's kid stories all day at the office.

My 33 year old brother still makes his own cards; I love them. (And, he is in full possession of all his faculties FYI).

Love: Onion sauteed until extremely soft.

Hate: Onion in any state other than sauteed until extremely soft.

*drools thinking about frying onion smell*

PS - I love making my own cards because greeting card messages always suck. Sometimes you can find nice blank ones, but personalized is always better.

I find it hard to meet eyes. I feel like they are going to steal my soul.
Or, you know, punch me then take my backpack.
But I carry my laptop in my backpack, so they would be stealing part of my soul. My most expensive part.

I don't trust anyone who won't look me in the eye. My man freaks me out with his intense stare because I know he's actually listening to me...and that my words will come back to haunt me someday.

I am a fan of the wind too. Especially right before a storm... it's soothing to my soul.

you cook? so you're the perfect man then? or yak? or old blue woman who scares me?

Well we must be thinking of two different winds because the one I know blows me off of mountainsides and carries away all my lawn furniture on a regular basis. I hate the wind.

I also hate people who won't look you in the eye....but people who just stare right at you the whole time they're talking to you are kinda creepy too!

Good list. I haven't yet done a 'hate' list, but I have done the 'like' lists.

Yes I call him Brian Secrest. It shows that I have so little respect for him that I refuse to learn his name.

I'm dying about Brian Secrest... I read it twice thinking, hmmmm... Ryan Seacrest maybe? And Blonde Goddess - I love she can always get those vegetable messages in. Damn.

Cannot abide beets, either. YUCK. Non-stop talk about kids, definately a turn off. and when it involves PTA? hari-kiri.

I am not a fan of the wind at all but I think it is because in Kansas it blows like 80 MPH all the time and it sucks. Tornados anyone? The wind here is never that bad because PA actually has trees. We make homemade cards too but mostly b/c I'm cheap and can't see spending $3+ on something that will be most likely thrown out upon reading it.

Debbie said...

I'd have to admit that I find much more in common with you on this list than anyone else's I've read!
Have I told you about my kids lately?

Number 5 on the hate list rocks!!

Crap, are the kid stories why you stopped reading my blog? ;)

If I stop blogging about my daughter...what is left. Certainly not sex. Besides she is sooooooo cute.
