Verizon Fios Red Headed Actor Guy. I Predict Fame.

Are you guys getting the Verizon Fios commercials all the time like we are here in the nicer areas of PA? Like in the hillbilly and backwoods regions* - have you guys seen this commercial with the red headed chubby dude? To see the commercial click here.

I think I could be a talent scout because this guy is really great. He's got such a perfect deadpan delivery. I'm predicting he's going to end up on a sitcom. I have no idea what his background is but I'm just sayin'. I should be a star maker. You wait.

And while on on the subject, the guy in that commercial that you're supposed to like? What a dill weed.

*And do any of you hillbilly people still have telegraph poles in your region? Don't be ashamed. I'm just curious. And not to sound elitist, but just a friendly reminder to the hillbilly readers - don't forget to go to a dentist. I'm not judging - I'm just trying to help you out.

Good eye - you're probably right. Like the Labatt's blue light commercial dude who is now working on his second series with that guy from Will and Grace.

You're right! The minute I saw him, I liked him!

I haven't seen that ad up here in the wilds of Maine yet, but it is funny. Somebody posted on the YouTube site that the actors are Jim Annan and Matt McCarthy. A quick google and it looks like Red is already well on his way to fame. Good eye, Blue.

*Most of the hillbillies in my region can't afford the dentist to fix their teeth, so they usually just get 'em all yanked when they can't take the pain no more.*

Kung Pao chicken.

It's chicken from China.

It's a delicacy.

****

The possibility of this guy showing up to fix my cable is the reason I'd stay with them.

I hope he does better than that kid who was so stonerly excited about your computer purchase ("Dude! You're getting a Dell!") like it came with a little bag of weed in it.

Wait, did Dells come with WEED!?!

Aww Dr. Zibbs! I had no idea that you were so civic-minded towards our dentally challenged segment of the population.

You really are the male counterpart to Mother Teresa aren't you?

That does it, I'm nominating you for a Nobel Prize for sure, I was about to do it just for your blog but this really puts you over the top! Woohoo!

Some things:

We 'have the commercial' because we have NY TV stations. But we do not have Fios. Hell, we just got cable modem action up here.

There are telegraph poles along Route 6 around Laceyville. All the glass insulators that could be reached by antique freaks without a cherrypicker or a large extension ladder have been stolen. Some of them still have wires hanging.

Re: dentists-- I know people personally who simply camouflage their decreasing number of teeth with enthusiastic tobacco chewing. Until they get that full upper plate they're saving up for. People in their thirties.

This is why I smile when they call me a flatlander.

I'm pretty sure that guy is friends with fellow blogger Anne Altman of "Two Can Anne". She's mentioned him on her blog in the past.

He reminds me a lot of Louis C.K.

Good call, the kid's got talent.

All of these hillbilly comments are from posers. I live in Coaldale, the motto being "Our goal is to mine more coal". And we have dentists up here too, we just take our time getting there, unlike you speeding city slickers.

btw, I woke up with a Brady Bunch song stuck in my head, thanks a lot.

Us rednecks do not get this one. Us rednecks watch television on our front porch because ya know, that's where our sofa is.

We don't have telegraph poles but we do have outhouse's.

We get Fios commercials in my area but the service isn't available. Go figure. And thank you, Zibbs, for reinforcing my 'no redheads' dating rule. ; )

Haha! My word veri is: denta

I already made my appointment.

Who you callin' a hillbilly? Here's a good line to use when you meet a real hillbilly (or my mother-in-law): "Nice tooth!"

FIOS sounds like something you need to take a pill for. Is it an epidemic or pandemic in NY and do you catch it by talking on a Verizon phone? Should I worry?

Oh, he's fucking great. I love it.

My prediction...he'll be starring in "Mall Cop 2: The Return of Paul Blart."

I see great things for this guy.
